Marquee Hoops Virginia Jumpoff 2023: Standout 15u Performances

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>High-level prospects filled up Boo Williams Sportsplex this past weekend for Marquee Hoops Virginia Jumpoff. With College coaches in attendance from big name schools including Boston University, Long Island University, and La Salle University. These electrifying 15u athletes did not disappoint. Over the weekend, we were able to see high-level playmaking, shooting, and defense. On one play, Howard beat his defender off the dribble going baseline and finishes at the rim with an impressive acrobatic layup along with the foul. When off-ball, Howard did a good job of sneaking behind the defense and making backdoor cuts to get open for shots at the rim. He did a good job of moving his feet to contain opposing ball handlers as well as deny and cut off driving lanes without fouling. In the passing lanes, Forbrich was extremely active and anticipatory to pick off passes and initiate fast breaks to convert on points off of the turnover. He was able to block shots in the paint without fouling with good timing and awareness, as well as hold his ground when defending the post to force missed shots. He did a good job speeding past defenders in the half court and getting into the paint to make a play for himself or teammates. On defense, Harris was able to make good efforts getting out to shooters on the perimeter to disrupt shots and force misses. On the defensive end, Bolle switched seamlessly when guarding the perimeter, not allowing any opportunities for the opposing offense to score off of screens. Judy was able to make plays out of the high-low actions with his vision and playmaking skills. With the ball in his hands, he was able to beat defenders to the paint in one on one situations as well as draw fouls on the way and finish with contact.
