Wednesday night PHI was in Marion for the Pure Sweat Spring Showcase featuring prospects from across the 618! Let's look at the players that stood out in Pure Sweat Spring Showcase: Top Performers!

[player_tooltip player_id='1428864' first='Mason' last='Shubert'] (Breese Central – 2024) – Top 2024 Performer

Shubert was excellent all night long. We have always known him more of a scorer and shooter which he still displayed, but it was his feel for the game and passing that made the biggest impression on us. He was excellent as a distributor throwing bullet passes one after another. Dump off dimes to his big men and pushed in the open floor finding teammates running. Also hit shots and mixed in gritty finishes at the cup. He was the best 2024 performer at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1541254' first='Owen' last='Treat'] (Vienna – 2024)

Treat was a consistent shooter all night long draining twos and threes on a regular basis. Also mixed in some floaters and played with grit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1750717' first='Blake' last='Herren'] (Dongola – 2024)

Herren is a 6'9” five man that is pretty raw, but with his size and strength will definitely find a home at the small college level. Finishes dump offs and flashes a short jumper on occasion.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545126' first='Docker' last='Tedeschi'] (Benton – 2025) – Top 2025 Performer

Tedeschi was one of the top prospects at the event coming in and he played up to it. The 6'8” four man is a skilled post with versatility and bounce. Each were showing in this setting as he was very good in the shooting drills along with mixing in some jumpers in the games. Had the play of the day dunking over an opposing big man for a nasty poster dunk! Quick to the offensive glass, rim runs, and can rip from the mid-post and get to the cup. D2s should monitor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545140' first='Drew' last='Barrington'] (Carterville – 2025)

Barrington is a 6'0” lead guard that has a good feel for the game. The point guard makes sound decisions with the rock, pushes up and down the floor, and can hit open shots. Good pull up jump shooter out to three.

Jayden McCoo (Mascoutah – 2025)

McCoo stands at 6'1” with good length. He was creative with the ball getting to the rim on a regular basis. Was at his best getting to the rim along with knocking in a couple of three balls.

Grady Cox (Herrin – 2025)

Cox is a 6'4” combo forward that showcased a clean shooting stroke out to beyond the arc. Can put it on the deck a little and score in the post on hook shots and seals on the block.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766503' first='Ethan' last='Simmons'] (Marion – 2025)

Quality size at 6'4” with the ability to knock in shots from all over the floor. He is a plus pull up shooter and drained triples with crispness off the bounce on the regular.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766476' first='Race' last='Hickey'] (Marion – 2025)

Hickey is a 6'9” five man that is still growing into his body and learning how to use it. Flashed a hook shot and blocked a couple shots. Bit raw, but project worth monitoring because of the physical tools.

Corylon Lewis-Keene (Carbondale – 2025)

Lewis-Keene made a name for himself with a strong outing. Was a force in transition scoring at the rim over and over and over again. The lefty two guard is a smooth ball handler that had a soft touch finishing package around the rim in the open floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1548328' first='Chandler' last='Mueller'] (Trenton Wesclin – 2025)

Mueller is a 6'1” guard that was on fire with his jumper in the scrimmages nailing them at a super high clip. He hit pull up twos and threes pulling up in transition as well as in the flow of the offense. Gritty defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552409' first='Gage' last='Peterson'] (Waltonville – 2026) – Top 2026 Performer

Peterson cracked our Top 30 watchlist for the 2026 class and showed why in the scrimmages and drills. Early in the shooting drills the 6'5” well built small forward was draining threes like it was nothing using his feathery stroke. In the games he went to work for reverses, spinning layups, scoring off the bounce, sealing in the post, and throwing down a couple dunks. One of the best young prospects in Southern Illinois.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552416' first='Gavin' last='Peppenhorst'] (Breese Mater Dei – 2026)

Peppenhorst is a 6'1” freshman guard that scored from all three levels effectively in the scrimmages with runners, mid-range jumpers, and threes.
