The club basketball season has begun and over the weekend, Hoopsource's Elite Opening Showcase took place at several locations around the Portland Metro area. We dropped by Clackamas Community College for a few games on Saturday afternoon and here are some of the top performers we saw.

Winters Grady (2025 TBA/NW Rotary Rebels EYBL 16U) - Grady did exactly what he did last season at Lake Oswego - get buckets. He was sharp with his shot, created off the dribble, and finished around the hoop. There are a lot of offensive weapons on this Rotary Rebels 16U squad and the 6-foot-7 swingman should be one of the main ones. We're listing Grady as TBA for now - expect some kind of official announcement soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1276626' first='Isaac' last='Carr'] (2025 Central Catholic/NW Rotary Rebels EYBL 16U) - The only other Oregon player on this combined Rotary/Rose City Rebels squad, Carr was playing both guard spots. He knocked down some outside jumpers and continued to show that he's been working on being more than just a shooter as he was aggressive taking the ball to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='861092' first='Jalen' last='Childs'] (2023 Beaverton/FOFA Elite) - Playing on a pop-up team with a bunch of his friends from Sunset and Westview, Childs did his thing, utilizing his athleticism to create off the bounce and finish around the hoop, converting opportunities for himself and his teammates. In a recent conversation, Childs noted that he's hoping to make his college choice at the end of April.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110590' first='Kayin' last='Turner'] (2024 Sunset/Protech) - On consecutive plays in the game we watched, Turner hit a corner three, then off a turnover flew in for a powerful one-handed dunk - there aren't many guys in his class in the state that can do that in the same game. You could probably stop right at that but the versatile 6-foot-5 swingman also created off the dribble and was solid on the boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1565732' first='Nico' last='Rafalovich'] (2024 Jesuit/Protech) - Rafalovich used his combination of 6-foot-5 size and shooting ability to get a number of buckets in the action we watched him play with Protech. He was particularly proficient with his pull-up jumper, which he capably shot over smaller defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110584' first='Dominic' last='Papworth'] (2024 Franklin/Protech) - One of the more sneaky athletes in the PIL, the 6-foot-2 Papworth showed off his leaping ability on a couple of finishes in Protech's win. He confidently handled the ball and showed good motor on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587916' first='Colt' last='Ness'] (2025 Tigard/ONE Basketball) - Despite being a little bit overmatched physically against the NW Rotary Rebels 16U squad, Ness backed down to no one. He showed confidence taking the ball to the hole to create for himself and others ad also capably knocked down perimeter jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1565738' first='Dax' last='Hanzlik'] (2024 Westside Christian/ONE Basketball) - Hanzlik is one of the better athletes at the 3A level and the 6-foot-4 swingman got loose in transition for a couple of athletic finishes at the rim. He looked to attack off the dribble and hit some pull-up Js.

[player_tooltip player_id='1662767' first='Kevin' last='Benson'] (2025 West Linn/ONE Basketball) - We've been intrigued by Benson ever since we initially saw him at a MaxHoops event before the season. At 6-foot-5, he ran the floor well, competed on the glass, and put in some tough finishes.
