Selects GOLD already has a tourney under its belt. They played in St. Cloud this past weekend at the Comets Shootout.
ECI 15U Selects GOLD started the year out smoking hot! They won the first four games of the tournament. In the semifinals, their shooting went cold and ECI lost to the host team, Comets Elite.
It was a great way to start the season!
ECI is an official member of the Prep Hoops Circuit, so I will see them in 2 weeks at Prep Hoops Live!
See below for more in-depth info on this talented team.

Player Comments
Grant Bieber Grant Bieber 6'2" | SG Bismarck | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’1 G| Bismarck – He has a love for the game that never quits. Grant has a great outside jump shot and the ability to defend multiple positions. Bieber has a quick trigger. He can put up serious points in a hurry. He put up monster points in school ball and was moved up to varsity later in the year. That confidence should come in handy during AAU hoops.
Raeshaun Earl Raeshaun Earl 5'11" | SG Hankinson | 2026 State ND (2026) |5’11 G| Hankinson – A gifted/special athlete that can make plays that turn your head. Covers a ton of ground off the bounce, can finish strong at the rim, and has a nice pull-up jumper. He looked a little shaky/nervous this past weekend. As he gets comfortable, Early could be a real player.
Haakon Seymour Haakon Seymour 6'1" | SF West Fargo | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’1 G| West Fargo – He is a really smart player who continues to get better year after year. Seymour’s strength allows him to finish at the rim and to be a solid rebounder on both ends. Haakon is another one of those players who gives it his all on the floor and is willing to do a lot of the little things to help his team win!
Carson Quam Carson Quam 6'0" | SF Shiloh Christian | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’0 SF| Shiloh Christian – He is a tough-nosed player who can play multiple positions. Carson’s strength and good footwork allow him to finish down low. His skill with the ball allows him to be a force on the perimeter. Quam is a very smart player who is also willing to do the little things on both ends of the floor.
Aiden Samek Aiden Samek 5'9" | PG West Fargo | 2026 State ND (2026)|5’9 G| West Fargo – He is one of the strongest guards at this level. Samek uses his strength very well while getting to the rim and finishing. When he draws doubles with his ability to penetrate, Aiden is very good at finding the open teammate. His strength and quickness also make him one of the best one-on-one defenders around. I will not be surprised if he is the leading scorer for this squad.
Beckett Pfau Beckett Pfau 6'0" | SG West Fargo | 2026 State ND (2026) |5’10 G| West Fargo – He is an excellent leader on the floor. Pfau is a backcourt player that has the ability to run the team and make sure everyone is in the right spot. He can also score the rock at an impressive rate. Beckett handles the ball very well and he always finds an open teammate. Big potential with his combo-guard.
Brody Weigel Brody Weigel 6'0" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’0 G| Bismarck Legacy – He is a do-it-all kind of player. Brody’s skills cover both ends of the floor and he has the ability to help his team in every aspect of the game. Whether it’s scoring, passing, rebounding, getting loose balls, or defending, he will do whatever his team needs. Weigel just wants to win.
Kaiden Peterson Kaiden Peterson 6'3" | SG Horace | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’2 G| Horace – He is a long, skilled guard that can score from all 3 levels. Kaiden has a nice catch-and-shoot game from 3 and does well at reading ball screens. He knows when to use the screen to get to the rim, settle for a jump shot, and when to get the screener the ball. On the defensive end, his length helps him grab a lot of defensive boards and start the transition offense on his own.
Jack Wheeldon Jack Wheeldon 6'9" | PF Fargo Davies | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’7 PF| Fargo Davies – His size obviously makes him a presence at this level. Jack can control both ends of the court with his height/length. He has good footwork and can move very well for being 6’7″. Wheeldon is certainly an intriguing player.
Q&A with coach Dan Glasser
PHD: What are your thoughts on how your team played this weekend?
Coach Glasser: “We played very well together. Everyone was making the extra pass and finding the open teammate. Our hustle and enthusiasm were top-notch and what really separates us from other teams. We really enjoy watching each other be successful.“
PHD: Did anyone surprise you this weekend?
Coach Glasser: “ Haakon Seymour Haakon Seymour 6'1" | SF West Fargo | 2026 State ND , for a player that is used to being in the post, he handles the ball very well and is capable of hitting the 3. His range, ball handling, and decision-making really make him a complete player.“
PHD: Who scored well at the Comets Shootout?
Coach Glasser: “ Aiden Samek Aiden Samek 5'9" | PG West Fargo | 2026 State ND – Scored at all 3 levels. He is very strong and loves getting to the rim. But, also has the ability to knock down the 3 when the defender is so worried about him getting to the rim.“
PHD: Who defended well this weekend?
Coach Glasser: “ Brody Weigel Brody Weigel 6'0" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2026 State ND – He takes pride in his defense, and it shows as he is always looking for the other team’s best player to defend. He sets the tone for our squad defensively. He is always in the right position and anticipates very well.”
PHD: What are you hoping to improve on going forward?
Coach Glasser: “Our shooting. I think we can shoot at a much higher percentage. We are getting good, open looks, we just need to knock them down.“
PHD: Why are you excited about this team/roster?
Coach Glasser: “We are very athletic and already work very well together. Each player has the ability to score from every level. We have the ability to score in bunches and will be very hard to keep up with because of our speed and aggressiveness.”
PHD: What will a couple of your strengths be as a team?
Coach Glasser: “Our speed and aggressiveness. We will be able to pick up and pressure defensively full court and have the ability to trap and force the other team to make mistakes.“
PHD: What style of basketball will you play on the offensive end?
Coach Glasser: “We will be pushing the ball every position and looking for fast break points. We have a very skilled big and will spread out the other 4 players and use our quickness and shooting ability.“
PHD: What brand of defense do you foresee your team playing?
Coach Glasser: “We will pressure full court and look to trap. We will be very quick and aggressive to get in the passing lane to get deflections and steals.”
Is there an event/tournament you are most looking forward to and why?
Coach Glasser: “The ECI Spring Showdown, because it is the closest tournament and it brings in great teams.“
