Throughout the season, here is a list of players who made the biggest jump since the last rankings update from before the season.
Jett Wyckoff Jett Wyckoff 6'3" | SF Hope Christian | 2023 State NM | SG | Hope Christian: The Hope Christian Huskies superstar made the biggest jump of any player in the latest rankings update. After being ranked in the outside the top 40, he climbed inside the top ten after a stellar senior year campaign. Jett Wyckoff Jett Wyckoff 6'3" | SF Hope Christian | 2023 State NM averaged around 22 points per game while leading Hope Christian to the 4A State Championship Game. He was selected to almost every individual honor a senior could get, All-State, All-Metro, All-District and made the 2023 All-Star Team.
Dalen Moyer Dalen Moyer 6'0" | CG Sandia | 2023 State NM | CG | Sandia: Dalen Moyer Dalen Moyer 6'0" | CG Sandia | 2023 State NM will be taking his talents to Northern New Mexico next season as an incoming freshman. His play from his senior year for Sania High School had a big reason for that. He was instrumental in the Matadors trip to the 5A State Championship Game this year. Dalen Moyer Dalen Moyer 6'0" | CG Sandia | 2023 State NM was the team’s second leading scorer averaging 12.5 points per game, was the states 3rd leading passer averaging 5.1 assists per game. He was in the conversation as the one of the state’s best three-point shooters making 74 of them throughout the season which was the 6th most in the state while shooting 37% from beyond the arc. He was ranked just outside the top ten.
Kellan Gehres Kellan Gehres 6'0" | CG Albuquerque Academy | 2023 State NM | SG | Albuquerque Academy: Kellan Gehres Kellan Gehres 6'0" | CG Albuquerque Academy | 2023 State NM emerged as one of the states best shooting guards two seasons ago and took his play to another level this past season. He was an 18-20 points scorer every night out scoring with efficiency. Kellan Gehres Kellan Gehres 6'0" | CG Albuquerque Academy | 2023 State NM was one of the state’s best marksmen from range that would heat up quickly after seeing the basketball go in the bucket a few times. Without his elite play and leadership, the Albuquerque academy Chargers don’t win the 4A State Championship without him.
Damian Perez Damian Perez 6'5" | SF Carlsbad | 2023 State NM | SG | Carlsbad: Arguably the best player in New Mexico, Damian Perez Damian Perez 6'5" | SF Carlsbad | 2023 State NM from Carlsbad helped the Cavemen overcome a slow start to the season. He was consistent 20+ points per game scorer throughout the season and led Carlsbad to the 6th seed in the 5A Boys State Tournament. He had among the deepest range in the state while pulling up from transition.
Andrew Hill Andrew Hill 6'2" | CG Sandia | 2023 State NM | CG | Sandia: An argument can be made that Sandia’s Andrew Hill Andrew Hill 6'2" | CG Sandia | 2023 State NM was a top five performer during the 2022-23 season in the state. He was one of the better all-around players you’ll find from the state. Andrew Hill Andrew Hill 6'2" | CG Sandia | 2023 State NM averaged 17 points per game as the Matadors leading scorer, 6 rebounds per game and 4 assists per game. He did all of those things while playing winning basketball and helped the Matadors reach the 5A State Championship Game.
Adam Montoya Adam Montoya 6'2" | PG St Michaels | 2023 State NM | SG | St. Michael’s: The Horsemen superstar had something to prove during the 2022-23 season after coming up short in the 3A Boys State Championship Game the season prior. He stock went up after going on a revenge tour to lead St. Mikes to the 3A Boys State Title this year. He was on a mission this year and finished the job to close out his high school career.
Caileb Parham Caileb Parham 6'2" | SG Eldorado | 2023 State NM | SG | Eldorado: The Eagles Star Caileb Parham Caileb Parham 6'2" | SG Eldorado | 2023 State NM had a good senior year. He averaged around 22 points per game and was one of the state’s leaders in scoring. He did most of his scoring with his athleticism and slashing ability. Caileb Parham Caileb Parham 6'2" | SG Eldorado | 2023 State NM had his share of dunks, made many contested layups, converted numerous And-Ones and made his share of free-throws. Throughout the 2022-23 campaign, he left everything out on the floor.
