The varsity finished 13-9 overall and in the Northeast Conference, we had a record of 7-3. The Junior Varsity finished 10-9 and gained some great experience for the next season. The C Team finished 8-2 and also made some great progress.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">PHD: What were some of the highlights that stick out</span>?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Coach Peterreins</span>:</strong> "<em>Before we hit the court to compete, we want to excel first in the classroom. Our final roster finished with a 3.54 accumulated GPA and that is something to be very proud of this team. Overall we are very pleased with how this team competed throughout the season on the court and held their own against the best teams on our schedule.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">PHD: How did your team overcome adversity</span>?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Coach Peterreins</span>:</strong> "<em>Our main adversity this season was due to some injuries that occurred with our seniors who played important roles within the program. Senior center <strong>Josh Mussi </strong>went down early in the season with a torn ACL. Senior guard <strong>Dravyn Carlson</strong> needed some rest mid-season with an achilles strain and missed 3 games. Senior center <strong>Carter Leddy</strong> missed the final 5 games due to a dislocated elbow. Senior guard <strong>Devon</strong> <strong>Moore</strong>, who is a nationally ranked bronc rider, injured himself in a rodeo competition and missed the final 4 games. Gavin is one of the all-time best deflectors and anticipators in our program history. Josh plans on attending Lake Area Technical College to pursue a degree in physical therapy.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">PHD: Who were some of your hardest workers</span>?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Coach Peterreins</span>:</strong> "<em>I felt our program all pursued the team mission of putting in the hard work and being the best we can be. We did a good job of having competitive practices and keeping everyone accountable throughout the season. Our team captains <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1227970' first='Gavin' last='Benck']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1874086' first='Braydon' last='Simon']</strong>, <strong>Ronnie Begalka</strong>, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1625215' first='Trey' last='Maaland']</strong> did a nice job competing with intensity each day in practice.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">PHD: Who are a couple of role players that stood out to you</span>?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Coach Peterreins</span>: </strong>"<em>Our role players who made an impact off the bench would be <strong>Dravyn Carlson</strong>, <strong>Carter Leddy</strong>, and <strong>Ricky Berndt</strong> who provided offense and depth to this year's team. Our best perimeter shooter based on percentage was <strong>Dravyn Carlson</strong> who shot 32% from 3FG.  Our best finisher around the rim was <strong>Carter Leddy</strong> who shot an impressive 62% from 2FG. <strong>Ricky Bernt</strong> also provided defense and made some big shots throughout the season. They average 12 ppg and 8 rpg together and were a big part of our success.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">PHD: Who will be a top player to look out for next season</span>?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Coch Peterreins</span>: [player_tooltip player_id='1625215' first='Trey' last='Maaland'] (2024) |6-1 G| 13.4 ppg 4.4 rpg 1.5 apg 1.1 spg</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"<em>Trey is a very good athlete who can guard multiple positions. He can score in a variety of ways and has become a very consistent player who continues to take his game to the next level.
