Continue ReadingSutton started the game by scoring seven of Broken Arrow First thirteen points. Throughout the rest of the first half, he impacted the game more on the defensive end while broken arrow played that matchup zone. He does a great job of closing spaces and being able to recover when it appears as if he has gotten beat. During the second half of the game, he was able to show his versatility and ability to make plays with the basketball.
Baker Started the game off hot by knocking down a three-pointer from college range then followed it up two plays later by beating the defense for a contested lay-up. To start the second half, he was able to get a few steals and give his team opportunities to get easy baskets. During the entire game, he was very disruptive on the defensive end of the ball and made it hard for the Broken Arrow guards as they were bringing it up.
Smith was pretty consistent throughout the game being able to score the basketball from all three levels. In the first half of the game, he focused on scoring from fifteen feet, and during the second half of the game, he began to show his ability to shoot it from deep by knocking down a three-pointer.
Dow was getting his point in the flow of the offense at the beginning of this game. He had several points off the back door cut and was able to get out on the fastbreak and get a few easy lay-ups. Toward the end of the first half, he was able to get open to knock down a three-pointer and put his team up by eight going into halftime. In the second half, he was able to consistently get open for both contested and uncontested looks from the three-point line.
Howell made an impact from the beginning of the game to the end. He was the primary ball handler for the tigers and was able to get everybody involved throughout the entire game. With Putnam City North consistently double-teaming him, he had no issues accepting the double team and making the right play. What was most impressive about him is his ability to pick his spots and also know when to look to score the basketball as well. As he continues to increase his offensive game he is going to be a major prospect at the next level.
