Reid was quite the presence in the Davie/Yadkin/Wilkes rotation with his ability to fly around for rebounds and knock down shots on the perimeter. He utilized his size well on the wing at 6-foot-3 to size up defenders and shoot over them. He’s a scrappy presence to watch out for with William Ellis Middle School.
Higgins was an impressive face with Team Forsyth at the lead guard spot. He showed he could handle the ball and get others involved while maintaining his own presence as a driver and shooter. He did well to control the pace and show he could make things happen in space.
Deibler was another impressive face in the Team Forysth backcourt. He showed off his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter and did well handling ball pressure and finding his bigs in the paint for easy scores. He’s a high IQ guard with some scrappiness to his game.
Edwards was a fearless ball-handler and leader for the Stokes/Surry backcourt. He showed he could get to the paint and make things happen on numerous occasions and really applied pressure defensively to lead by example for his squad when they needed him most.
Don’t let Mason’s stature fool you, he lit up things from the perimeter in their 2nd game in a near upset as he showed off his ability to knock down shots with confidence from deep. He’s a lead guard to get to know given his confidence handling and shooting the basketball.
Highlights
Best was one of the top ballhandlers at the Triad First48 Middle School County Clash. He showed off his ability to be a presence in the Team Davie/Yadkin/Wilkes. He was impressive getting to the paint and make things happen around the rim utilizing his frame.
Wilson was another frontcourt presence that stood out for Team Forsyth. He showed off his athleticism around the rim and had a number of big finishes as he showed off his ability to finish in traffic. He’s a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop his midrange game.
Thiel was a physical presence around the rim that showed off his ability to battle on the boards and finish in traffic. He was a sizeable prospect that showed he could operate in the paint for Team Forsyth as an anchor on both ends of the floor. He’s one to keep eyes on at Jefferson Middle.
Highlights
Phillips was another lead guard that stood out for Davie/Yadkin/Wilkes. He was fearless handling the ball and did well to push the pace and find his spots to make things happen. He’s got good size already at 5-foot-11 he utilizes to look over the defense and find others in space to make things happen.
Gardner was another name that stole the show for Stokes/Surry. He was a confident ball-handler and shooter in space that showed he could do a little bit of everything despite his size at 5-foot-8. He was an unselfish face for Stokes/Surry that kept their confidence up and made plays on both ends.
