Recruiting Report: Will Garnaas (2018)
Guard Will Garnaas is one of South Dakota’s top up and coming 2018 players as he heads into the more competitive months of summer basketball.
Coming off the bench this past high school season, Garnaas used his three point shooting abilities to stretch the floor and get all the way to the rim. This spring and summer Garnaas looks to improve his game individually. He has hopes of keeping up his shooting and ball handling skills, but also working on his passing.
Garnaas plans to develop alongside his high school team as well though. He will be playing for the BBA Force in May and July, but during June he will play with his high school, Sioux Falls Christian.
“I think our team underachieved a little bit though because I thought we were the best team in the state,” Garnaas said about last season. “Most schools would be happy with a third place finish at state, but at Sioux Falls Christian we’re held to a higher standard.”
Garnaas takes that statement further than just the basketball court. This junior guard not only wants to exceed with basketball, but also in the classroom. With the intent of a business major, he is just as concerned about the academic side of the next level as he is for basketball.
“I’m looking for a college that will fit my academic needs first because basketball doesn’t last forever,” Garnaas said. Any college will agree with that statement and will be excited to hear that Garnaas has passion on and off the court.
A few GPAC schools have reached out to the future senior, but Garnaas hasn’t made any plans for visits yet.
