Recruiting Report: Aaron Fiegen (2018)
Six-foot-7 Madison junior forward Aaron Fiegen led Madison to the Class A state title game and has also become one of the top prospects in the state of South Dakota.
Madison finished 20-5 this season with Aaron leading the team in scoring at over 16 points per game plus he grabbed around six rebounds a contest. The experience of his junior year was unforgettable.
“I would say I grew as a high school basketball player just by the experience,” Aaron said. “This was my first year as a starter and having a big role on a successful team. And making it to the state tournament and the title game was also huge experience.
“I will always remember the team that I played with this year. This was the most fun team I have ever played with. Our goal was to win a state title and we fell a little short but I will always remember that weekend with my teammates.”
Aaron is one of the more agile and skilled face-up power forwards in the upper Midwest and he has his focus set on getting even better.
“I want to keep becoming a better shooter on and off the dribble and creating my own shot,” Aaron said. “My goal this off-season is to just to stay in the gym and the weight room and play as much as I can.”
The Dakota Schoolers are one of the bigger Grassroots teams you will see this spring so Aaron is allowed to play several roles.
“Playing with the Schoolers has challenged me to be even more versatile because I have gotten to play the 2-5 positions (every position on the court except point guard),” Fiegen explained.
And as a versatile talent who is on winning teams with strong production Aaron is hearing from several college programs.
“I have been hearing a lot from Augustana, Southwest Minnesota State, Northern State, and U of Sioux Falls,” Aaron told PHD. “I have also heard from a couple of d1 schools (North Dakota is one that has shown initial interest).
“I have gone to Augustana and Northern State on visits and will be going to Southwest Minnesota State soon.”
