William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
Boogie showed resilience and shot-making ability, staying aggressive even when his shot wasn’t falling early. He created offense both by getting to the line and making plays in transition, including some finishes off a smooth tangent of double moves against Kennedy in their classic OT battle. As the game progressed, he found his rhythm, knocking down multiple threes and scoring from his spots with confidence helping rally his team. He also showed his ability to create off the dribble, sinking multiple 3pt shots after shaking the defense with the handle. Showed why he is always amongst the conference-leaders in scoring.

-“Boogie” turned in a great career for Richard Montgomery as one of the best scorers in not only Moco but the whole DMV as a shifty scoring point guard. Loved his ability to hit midrange jumpers going either direction from the wings and over the course of his career his pivot/finishing bag around the rim only continued to improve. Boogie got to his spots with or without a ball screen and supplemented his shot diet of midrange and 3 point bombs with consistent trips to the free throw line each night. His ability to get hot and stay hot to sustain momentum for RM bodes well for his long term outcomes at the next level with Division II Young Harris College.

26p 7r 3a 3s 9/23 FG vs John F Kennedy
-The Young Harris commit battled from start to finish in his last HS basketball game in the yellow and black, absolutely filling it up from all 3 levels. Cooper started things off with a right-left crossover into the long extension layup through the contact, hit his opponent with a bump in transition for another and1 lay, turned a steal into a layup at the other end, executed a baseline skip pass to a shooter in the opposite corner, knocked down a corner 3 of his own, threw a pitch and chase to get back ball for a face-up 3 that hit nothing but net, scored on a bump n one-handed floater, hit a double cross stepback midrange jumper from the baseline, and closed things out with a double crossover pullup 3. His ability to get to his spots in the halfcourt with or without a ball screen was invaluable over the course of a great season in Montgomery County.

Vaughn-Cooper’s loud senior campaign continued as he led Richard Montgomery in their biggest win of the season behind 25 points, four rebounds and two assists. Although he’s known for his potent three-level scoring prowess, it was impressive to see him quickly locate the open teammate as the clock winded down and deliver the game-winning assist to 2027

, who would connect on the three-pointer that gave them a one-point advantage as the buzzer sounded. The savvy lead guard is a blur with the ball in his hands and can quickly get from end-to-end, supplying significant pressure on the rim. His burst and wiggle made him a handful to contain in 1-on-1 scenarios where he creates the space needed to get his shot off from deep or create driving lanes where he can finish through the contact of the rotating big who contests his attempt in the air.

Boogie was electric all summer with Vito Special as they took Championship after Championship. He owned the MADE Hoops Circuit with multiple games of double-digit scoring. Tavares is incredibly quick and decisive with his handle/first step. He can breakout in the open floor and finish at the rim in the blink of an eye. Elusive with the ball in his hands, so Boogie can shift directions and pull-up or make a quick floater.

Like Uriah, ‘Boogie’ Cooper was all-in with the intensity of the game and stayed in the moment. He defended the ball hard and made a lot of stops in his matchup against the Q6 All-Stars from Florida. Tavares was shifty with the ball and kept his head up at all times to hit his shooters. I liked the way Boogie attacked the basket when his shots weren’t falling early. He scored a big part of his points at the basket using his underrated strength to finish tough layups. Did a good job of being patient within his attacks and was rewarded with timely baskets. Boogie was grabbing rebounds and pushing the ball ahead well, playing the point solid leading the team to an 80+ point game. Owned the midrange with floaters and pullups, making him unpredictable and a threat through the whole game.

score the ball against St. Albans this weekend. Tavares is so quick with a great handle, and he does an excellent job creating space. He’s a great shooter and knows how to get to the line. He’s a crafty guard and a walking bucket. He had 30 points against St. Albans in a loss.

is a talented guard who knows how to get a bucket. Tavares has a great handle and a deep bag of moves and counters to get where he wants to get to. He is an outstanding jump shooter and does a great job as a passer. Tavares is a little small and has the ball a lot, but he is very skilled and will often create a good look for himself or someone else. He finished with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Tavares showcased multiple angles to his game offensive game this past weekend at MADE Hoops. First he knocked down countless jumpers from range, shaking his man off the dribble with different combos. It was impressive to see the way he mixed it up to get to his spots offensively through the first couple games. In the latter half of games for Vito Official, Vaughn-Cooper honed in to his playmaking and defensive ability. Boogie created a number of baskets for his team by driving the lane with control and keeping his head up to find shooters and cutters. He was a name-to-watch entering the weekend and was a clear standout by the end.
