The 6’0 junior gave it his all during tonight’s matchup against Discovery, finishing with 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Simes is beginning to find his groove heading into district play and has another year left to develop. He stands out with his menacing defense but can score the rock in a variety of ways.
Got a chance to watch Torres compete against high competition and he handled it like a seasoned veteran. He has really good measurables for a combo guard while being able to finish strong with either hand when contested at the rim. Torres dropped a mean 22 points with many coming to push the lead late in the third quarter. Came away impressed with his shooting ability and lay up package.
Highlights
Taveon Jones
Taveon Jones
The co-MVP of the Windermere vs Bartow game, Jones was very impressive while leading his team to a victory in front of an energized home crowd. Jones is extremely fast on the hardwood but has controlled body and dribbling skills to help finish at the rim or find open teammates. He finished the game with 20 total points.
Caleb Campos
Caleb Campos
Campos was one of the more overall developed prospects who could have an impact at early on at the next level from throughout Day One. Even at his 6’7 frame, Campos knocks down the three ball with ease. He has a silky-smooth jumper that he uses at will. I hardly seen him dominate in the paint, but his jump shot was spot on tonight. He recorded just 13 points but felt like more in a low scoring matchup.
Hardy was once again the floor general and leader for the Dreadnaughts squad who lost in overtime against a good Orlando Christian Prep team. Hardy had 14 points on the night with countless effort plays.
The 6’7, 195-pound senior forward finished with 14 points (5-5 FG, 2-2 3P), good enough for MVP game honors for Orlando Christian Prep. Sutherland finished well at the rim tonight and helped OCP dominate in the 2-3 zone with his long frame.
Ramadan played competitively on both ends of the floor but really gave the defense problems with his confidence in shooting the rock. He scored 13 points with most coming from behind the arc. Ramadan, along with junior guard Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6’5″ | SG Orlando Christian Prep | 2024 State #177 Nation FL , were adequate scoring threats for OCP.
