We recently updated our senior class rankings in the state of VA, and we will take a look at each positional ranking from guards, wings and forwards. Obviously some of these players are positionless players that can fit in multiple spots, but we did our best to categorize them based on their skillset.

Here's a look at part two of our rankings for shooting guards and small forwards in the new rankings.

15) [player_tooltip player_id='1483002' first='Paul' last='Anderson'] | 6'3” SG | South County (#33 Overall)

Anderson has emerged as one of the top wings in the NOVA area and has South County sitting as one of the top teams in the area as well with his ability to impact the game across the board. The 6'3” two guard is a good athlete who uses it to defend some of the best players in the area, he rebounds at a high rate at his position and he has shown he can score the ball in different ways and has developed into a knock down shooter from deep.

14) [player_tooltip player_id='999626' first='Khalil' last='Williams'] | 6'4” SG | Potomac School (#32 Overall)

Williams is one of the top scorers you'll find in the entire state, and he's had a great senior year for a Potomac School team that has exceeded expectations so far this year. The 6'4” two guard is an aggressive go-getter who can get downhill and is an excellent finisher at the rim in traffic, he's a good shooter from deep who can knock it down off the catch and can hit the pull-up in the midrange and when he gets it going he can fill it up in bunches and take over games.

13) [player_tooltip player_id='999628' first='Desmond' last='Roberts'] | 6'5” SF | STAB (#30 Overall)

Roberts is perhaps the most underrated and under recruited player in the state, as he's improved immensely this year with STAB and has a lot of physical and athletic tools that others simply don't have. The 6'5” wing is a strong and super bouncy athlete who can rebound and finish above the rim consistently, he's versatile defensively with his ability to guard and play multiple positions and he's really improved in his consistency as a shooter from deep off the catch.

12) [player_tooltip player_id='999618' first='Steven' last='Stinson'] | 6'5” SF | Varina (#29 Overall)

Stinson has missed this season with Varina, but that doesn't change the fact he was one of the top players in Richmond over the past few years. He's a strong wing who gets it done in the paint as a rebounder and finisher, he can put it on the deck and is a good playmaker off the bounce and when he gets it going he's shown the ability to score it in bunches and impact winning in a number of different ways.

11) [player_tooltip player_id='1362690' first='Thomas' last='Youngkin'] | 6'4” SF | St. Chris (#27 Overall)

Youngkin is one of Richmond's most underrated players, and the governor's son is a versatile and skilled wing who can do a little bit of everything to help his team. The 6'4” wing is a big time shooter who has size to get his shot off with little to no space, he's a good rebounder and defender who plays with a good motor and he has a great feel and IQ for the game on both ends of the floor.

10) [player_tooltip player_id='999636' first='AJ' last='Clark'] | 6'3” SG | Menchville (#23 Overall)

The VMI commit is perhaps one of the best defenders you'll come across in the entire state, and he has improved immensely on the offensive end as well over the past few years. Clark is a big time athlete who is a blur in the open floor and is a super explosive leaper that allows him to block shots and finish above the rim like a big man, he is a lock down defender who can smother the other team's best perimeter scorer and has great anticipation to jump passing lanes and he can create off the bounce offensively and is a good finisher and shot maker in the midrange.

9) [player_tooltip player_id='1231822' first='Leland' last='Coleman'] | 6'6” SF | Trinity Episcopal (#21 Overall)

Coleman has always been on the radar and over the past six months has really started to turn the corner and is currently getting late offers from D1 schools due to the big senior season he's having at TES. The 6'6” wing has all the physical and athletic tools as he has long arms and is a big time finisher around the rim, he has improved a lot in his ability to create and make shots from multiple levels around the rim and he is a good rebounder who is at his best when he plays with energy and a high motor.

8) [player_tooltip player_id='1115504' first='Jayden' last='Harris'] | 6'4” SG | Potomac (#15 Overall)

Harris is one of the most under recruited players you'll find in the NOVA area, and he's having a huge senior season where he's one of the top scorers in the area on one of the top teams in the area as well. The 6'4” two guard is an all-around scorer who can fill it up from all three levels, he's effective at getting open and making shots both on and off the basketball and he's an athletic and strong finisher around the rim. He can fill it up with the best of them and has done so efficiently while impacting the game in other ways too.

7) [player_tooltip player_id='1115503' first='Greg' last='Jones'] | 6'5” SF | Hayfield (#9 Overall)

The American commit is the best player on one of the best public school teams in the state, and he's also one of the most well-rounded wings that you'll come across. The 6'5” small forward has great size on the wing with long arms and is a good athlete, he is an exceptional playmaker who is very smart and unselfish and can deliver passes on the money and he's a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and is a good defender as well. He really worked over the past year or so to become a much more consistent shooter from deep, and his ability to play on or off the ball and impact the game across the board at his size separates him from a lot of players in the state.

6) [player_tooltip player_id='1748166' first='Jason' last='Rivera'] | 6'7” SF | John Marshall (#7 Overall)

Rivera is the highest ranked player to make his debut in our updated senior rankings, and he's been huge for a John Marshall team that sits at 17-0 and is nationally ranked after playing a tough schedule featuring some of the top teams in the country. The star of the Apple TV show “Swagger” can hoop in real life too, as he has great size on the wing, plays with a great motor that never stops and he brings toughness as a defender and rebounder too. He's a knock down shooter from deep and gets to the line often as well as being able to play above the rim, and college coaches from across the country have been inquiring about him after the way he's played this year on one of the top teams in the country.

We recently updated our senior class rankings in the state of VA, and we will take a look at each positional ranking from guards, wings and forwards. Obviously some of these players are positionless players that can fit in multiple spots, but we did our best to categorize them based on their skillset.
