Demons
Andre’ Austin Andre’ Austin 6'3" | CG Bismarck | 2025 State #388 Nation ND (2025) |6’1 G|
28 pts, 11 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 1 triple, 9/11 FT. He was in “attack mode” all game and he shot double-digit free throws because of it. Austin has a killer inside-out fake crossover and his body control is astounding. Like many of his teammates, Andre scored multiple baskets in transition. He is a speedy and explosive player. Not to mention his impressive strength for only being a 10th grader. When scoring at the rim, Austin showed great hang time and he made acrobatic moves. His 3-pointer came from the baseline and Austin is an amazing rebounder for his 6’1″ size. I loved how he grabbed a defensive rebound, quickly took off in the other direction, and led the break. He also scored with an O-board putback, Austin is very quick off the ground. He is a hard worker and Austin showed a sweet Euro-step. Andre had many blow-by drives and his finishing package is fantastic. He scored after contact for AND1 finishes. His double-double was impressive, but Austin was also a creator for others. He put pressure on the defense, drew help, and kicked out to shooters. He also delivered a soft touch lob pass to Schaffer for a score. Austin is having a fantastic sophomore season and he certainly looked like an All-WDA Player on Saturday.
Preston Lemar Preston Lemar 6'3" | SG Bismarck | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’3 G|
10 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast, 2/2 FT. He is a long guard with impressive speed and quickness. Preston scored in fast break scenarios and he converted at the rim with a defender in his face. He was beyond impressive when he beat his defender, slashed along the baseline, and scored with a reverse layup before the D could stop him. Lemar had a quality showing on Saturday afternoon.
Carter Henke Carter Henke 6'1" | SG Bismarck | 2024 ND (2024) |6’0 G|
10 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl, 2 triples. He has a versatile offensive game. Carter scored with a floater/runner, can produce off the bounce, hit inside-out triples, and gets buckets in transition.
Jack Shaffer Jack Shaffer 6'7" | PF Bismarck | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’7 C|
10 pts, 6 reb, 2/2 FT. He is a huge kid that takes up a big amount of space. Schaffer moves well for his size. I believe that Jack is a high-level football recruit as an Offensive Tackle. He scored multiple times on o-board putbacks. I love how he keeps the ball high after he grabs a rebound. That way the pesky defenders can not get their hands on the ball. Jack showed sticky and soft hands when catching a lob pass near the hoop. He went up and caught the rock with his big paws. He caught high and finished high. Schaffer is an excellent complimentary player with his size, strength, and offensive rebounding.
Jenner Smude Jenner Smude 6'4" | SG Century | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’3 G|
10 pts, 1 reb, 2 ast, 2 triples. Shooter alert! Smude is a long SG with a special stroke. His length and long arms allow him to get his shot off. Smude looked good in the catch-n-shoot game. He knocked down a timely 3-pointer right before halftime. Jenner is not just a shooter. He scored in transition. He also showed beautiful footwork. Jenner used a shot fake, then he stepped through the defender, and scored with a short jumper. Smude has expanded his game. In the past, I have only known him as a shooter from beyond the arc.
Braves
Houston Davis Houston Davis 6'4" | SF Turtle Mountain | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’3 F|
25 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast, 2 stl, 2 triples, 3/4 FT. He is a crafty and skilled player with an “old man” feel to his game. You do not see many high school players with his feel and how Davis uses his body to create good looks. He also has great timing and anticipation. This was on display when he scored on a SLOB alley-oop tip-in. He was actually fouled on the play as well. Houston got the scoring going with a 3-pointer to start the game. Multiple times throughout, Davis showed an effective spin move. Houston caught in tight places with soft hands and he had no trouble finishing in traffic. His anticipation was on display when grabbing offensive rebounds. Davis scored multiple times with putbacks and with a tip-in. Houston showed excellent vision when passing the rock. He also blocked multiple shots and took a charge.
Gunner Zerr Gunner Zerr 6'0" | SG Turtle Mountain | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’0 G|
13 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast, 5 stl, 1 triple. He stuck out to me as a good athlete with quick feet. Zerr moves his feet well and he can be an annoying defender with his pressure. It worked, Gunner finished with 5 steals! He was awe-inspiring in transition. Gunner scored multiple buckets by sprinting the court and attacking the bucket.
Parker Wallette Parker Wallette 6'3" | SF Turtle Mountain | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’3 F|
24 pts, 8 reb, 2 stl, 6/9 FT. He was great in transition. Wallette plays fast and is always pushing the tempo. Parker scored multiple times in fast beaks and with run-out layups. He showed a smooth spin-move-score over two defenders. Parker converts with a soft-touch shot. He also put down a smooth/soft runner in transition. He was smart about pulling up instead of getting to the rim where the defenders were. Wallette is a crafty and smooth offensive player.
Zavier Parisien (2023) |6’2 F|
3 pts, 4 reb, 1 stl, 1/2 FT. He looked like an energetic offensive rebounder. Parisien had an impressive possession when he went coast-to-cost for a bucket. He dribbled the length of the court, blew by multiple defenders, and hit the shot with a 1-handed jumper from mid-lane.
Abraham Peltier (2024) |6’2 G|
7 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 triple. He looks to be a cool customer. I liked the way that he finished around the rim. Peltier plays poised and his finger roll finish at the cup was impressive. He can also hit the outside shot. Peltier knocked down a catch-n-shoot 3-pointer in the second half.
Gannyn Monette Gannyn Monette 6'2" | SG Turtle Mountain | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’2 G|
9 pts, 4 reb, 1/2 FT. He looks like a sneaky offensive rebounder. Gannyn appears to be an opportunistic scorer. He grabbed a long offensive rebound and drilled a short jumper. He also scored in fastbreak situations.
Dylan LeBeau (2025) |6’2 F|
6 pts, 1 reb, 2 ast, 2/2 FT. I liked the looks of his shooting mechanics. LeBeau caught my eye with a smooth fall-away jumper. He also looked like a money FT-shooter.
