About the Bluejays - The Bluejays are the lone undefeated team in 3A and have held the #1 spot in the PrepHoops rankings for a while now. [player_tooltip player_id='956874' first='Colby' last='Collison'], who recently committed to Briar Cliff, leads the Bluejay offense, averaging 19.1 points a game. Collison has a very well-polished game and is a smart player on both ends of the floor. He's an elite scorer on offense and uses his size and length well on the defensive end. Fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='1288863' first='Jaxson' last='Fried'] is another standout player on this Bluejay squad. Fried is averaging 16.3 points a contest, to go with 6.4 rebounds. At 6'6", he is a very intriguing prospect for college coaches. He has the ability to step out and shoot and is very versatile on defense. Everett White is the teams leading rebounder, averaging 7.9 a game. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1587752' first='Reed' last='Pfaltzgraff'] is the fourth Bluejay averaging double-figures, at 10.4 a game. Coach Evans has a very well-rounded squad this year, and with the scoring ability they have, they should continue to make noise in the postseason.

Toughest Remaining Games - 2/7 vs. North Polk, 2/9 vs. Knoxville, 2/14 @ Newton, 2/16 @ Indianola

Will They Go Undefeated? No. The Bluejays have some tough matchups coming up in February. The Bluejays ability to spread the ball out and get points from anywhere will keep them unbeaten until their season finale. I think Indianola will win a close one, and give the Bluejays their lone loss of the season. In a wide-open Class 3A, Bondurant-Farrar should make a long run in the postseason.

About the Cougars - The Cougars have steamrolled through their schedule thus far, boasting a 32.1 point differential. This roster is absolutely loaded with talent. Kirkwood commit [player_tooltip player_id='1167718' first='Colby' last='Dolphin'] (15.2 ppg) and Upper Iowa commit [player_tooltip player_id='956877' first='Kenzie' last='Reed'] (10.5 ppg) are the two defenses always key on. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1171679' first='Micah' last='Schlaak'] (11.9 ppg) has been a key piece for the Cougars this season. Schlaak is a very versatile player on both ends of the floor and has a ton of potential. He can score inside and out, and defend inside and out as well. Another key piece for Kennedy this year has been [player_tooltip player_id='1171687' first='Cyrus' last='Courtney'] (9.3 ppg). Courtney is very good on the defensive end, suffocating his matchup, and very good at getting steals (3.3 spg). He uses his quickness and athleticism to get to the hoop. The Cougars are an all-around good team on both sides of the ball. They share the ball, have multiple scorers, and they don't quit playing on the other end.

Toughest Remaining Games - 1/31 vs. Waterloo West, 2/7 vs. Iowa City West, 2/11 @ Valley, 2/14 @ Xavier

Will They Go Undefeated? Yes. The Cougars have some tough matchups coming up in Waterloo West and Valley, two teams who have been playing really well lately. Kennedy has been rolling through their schedule, and I don't see that stopping. I think they are the best team in 4A and expect them to prove that as the regular season winds down.

About the Black Raiders - Way out west, the Black Raiders have been rolling this season. [player_tooltip player_id='1437607' first='Fitzgerald' last='Grant'] "Fitzy" leads the way, averaging 15.5 points a contest. Grant is an efficient scorer, shooting the rock at 62.8%. He uses his strength to get to the hoop and finish in traffic. [player_tooltip player_id='1196279' first='Preston' last='Dobbs'] (15.0 ppg) is East's top perimeter threat, shooting over 50% from three. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1367396' first='Cole' last='Ritchie'] (6.9 ppg) is a secondary scorer, but the teams leading assister (3.6 apg) and rebounder (5.9 rpg). As a team, the Black Raiders are a very efficient scoring bunch, play good team defense, and shoot well from the charity stripe.

Toughest Remaining Games - 1/30 @ Sergeant Bluff-Luton, 1/31 @ Bellevue West, 2/3 vs. Council Bluffs Lincoln

Will They Go Undefeated? No. Just like CR Kennedy, the Black Raiders have been rolling through their schedule. Sergeant Bluff-Luton and Council Bluffs Lincoln were the lone teams from Iowa to play East close, so I expect a couple more close ones there. Then the Black Raiders travel over to Nebraska to take on an undefeated Bellevue West team that features the number one ranked player in Nebraska, Josiah Dotzler. Keep an eye on the Black Raiders come postseason time.
