Week 5: Top Shooting Guards

I started the week off with Indianapolis Shortridge at Indianapolis Chatard. Then, I took on a pair of Holiday Tournaments at North Daviess and Franklin County during the next two days. His hot shooting kept Southridge in the game with 11 first half points. He shot 6-8 from the floor and 4-6 from the outside. This was Meredith's best game of the season by far, and his shooting will be a key for Shortridge's success this season. He hit a nice mid-range pull-up and a pair of catch and shoot triples. He did struggle to take care of the basketball at times with some bad decision-making, but he made some shots to make up for it. He has a nice outside shooting stroke, and he fights hard on both ends of the floor. He also made some nice passes. Gillman is going to be a key part of this Franklin County team when they lose seven seniors this season. He has a great outside shooting stroke and will let it fly if he gets even an inch of space. Ertel scored 18 points in both games, and he was 8-10 shooting from three in the first three halves of basketball. He can stroke it from the outside going 3-4 from deep. He also plays hard on the defensive end of the floor and is always looking to jump passing lanes. He finished it well around the rim and showed that he can knock it down from deep if left open. He also dominated on the defensive end, diving for every loose ball and jumping passing lanes. He bullied his way inside and finished easily around the rim. Morgan also showed off some impressive court vision and made some great passes for easy looks for teammates.
