#1 Young Talent

We knew that the young talent in the Class of 2026 was going to be good but it is starting to exceed expectations. Across the state players are making noise and taking names as this class is special.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278443' first='Anthony' last='Felesi'] is killing it at Orem and is having a stellar season and is just projecting very high. Over at Springville there are two players that are making noise and one has a strap in [player_tooltip player_id='1278449' first='Mason' last='Hansen'] and the other can shoot well too in [player_tooltip player_id='1278439' first='Jamyn' last='Sondrup'], but he is 6'9 and is killing deep in the post. [player_tooltip player_id='1541890' first='AJ' last='Peek'] over at Intermountain Christian has been playing at a high level doing work in the small school division. Bingham has a youngster in [player_tooltip player_id='1278436' first='Luke' last='West'] that has cracked the starting line-up and he is playing well. One of the more impressive players in [player_tooltip player_id='1278502' first='Gavin' last='Lowe'] over at Olympus, he is on an upward curve. [player_tooltip player_id='1278435' first='Junior' last='County'] has been stellar as well over at RSL Academy.

#2 Out of State Warriors

The amount of schools playing well and representing out of state is absolutely impressive

Copper Hills (Florida)

Orem (Florida)

Corner Canyon (Arizona)

Alta (Nevada)

Cyprus (California)

American Fork (California)

This is just the short list of schools heading out of state. Really excited to see Cyprus and American Fork play in one of the most popular holiday tournaments in the country in the Damien Classic. They will play against good teams, in great facilities with a shot clock.

#3 RPI Madness

Last year a flaw was uncovered as American Fork played one of the craziest pre-season schedules. They lost to Bingham (who was really good last year), Faith Family, FL, Duncanville, TX, Davis, Etiwanda, CA, Damien, CA. But they also beat some high powered schools and their RPI Ranking was terrible. They should have been a #2 or 3 seed based on strength of schedule that the RPI isn't really tracking, especially when you play out of state teams. This year 5A and 6A are already seeing problems as some teams are playing some terrible teams but getting wins and they have catapulted over teams playing a very good schedule. In the end you might say, "who cares". In the end what could happen is you will get a 2nd round game between two power house. If the playoffs started today one team would be a top 1/2 seed that has zero wins over any team with a winning record and two losses against 4A programs.
