Devon Pryor Devon Pryor 6'7" | SG PSAT Academy | 2024 #125 Nation TX 2024 6’7 PSAT Academy (TX)
Devon is an incredible athlete who is a sure fire high major division one prospect. His athleticism allows him to catch lobs, hammer home dunks, play both ends of the court, and handle the ball and get to his spots across all three levels of the floor. He is a knock down shooter off the catch and off the bounce. His height allows him to shoot over the top of seemingly anyone, especially after he shifts you and manipulates you with his handle. His shot making ability really opens up the floor for Pryor, allowing him to manipulate the defense out of the pick and roll or the triple threat, calmly and patiently exploding towards the rim after manipulating his speed. Pryor is the kind of prospect that you do not get to see very often, with his special blend of skills on the offensive side of the court, his willingness to defend and his jaw dropping frame and athleticism.
Pryor’s ability to affect the game defensively is already at an elite level. He moves his feet incredibly well, keeping anyone in front of him and dominating with his length on the perimeter. His long arms allow him to poke the ball free and tip nearly every pass his opponent makes when he is defending on the ball. His switch ability will be a coveted asset when it is time for him to choose a school… He can realistically play 1-5 at this level, and then at the next I can see him able to defend positions 1-4 as soon as he steps on campus. I fully expect Pryor’s recruiting to EXPLODE in the near future, so keep your eye on him…
Tru Washington Tru Washington 6'3" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #61 Nation AZ 2023 6’5 Arizona Compass Prep (AZ)
Tru is a high level athlete who can finish at the rim, play on or off the ball and get to his spots from beyond the arc. The nephew of former Kentucky Wildcat and recent Houston Rocket’s draft pick TyTy Washington, is a dominant player who can dominate on both ends of the court and effect the game even when his shot is not falling. In the game I saw, his shot from the outside was not falling with the best consistency, so he calmly put his head down and got to his bread and butter. He calmly attacked his opponents off the bounce and used his frame to absorb contact on his way to the rim. He calmly adjusted his shot angle, even when getting bumped by his opponent in the air.
Washington can also play on the ball and orchestrate an offense. He can play out of the pick and roll, and create looks for his teammates with his ability to make creative passes. His first instinct is to get to the rim, collapse the defense and make the right kick out pass to his teammates, or a slick dump off to his bigs for a dunk. He has the ability to run the show, but also the awareness and IQ to play off the ball, cutting at just the right time to make the defense make a decision and open up a lane for a teammate.
Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ 2023 6’7 Arizona Compass Prep (AZ)
Mookie is a high flying athlete who recently announced his commitment to the University of Oregon. His ability to hammer home jaw dropping dunks and finish on anyone’s head is absolutely incredible to watch. He is a natural finisher in the paint, calmly taking on contact and readjusting his angle before calmly laying the ball up. More often than that, Cook is looking to explode enough to hammer it home. His aggressiveness down low allows him to scrap for rebounds and attack the ball high in the air.
His aggressiveness translates to the defensive end of the court as well, calmly defending positions 3-5 at this level, and will likely be able to do the same at the next level with his blend of size and strength. I would like to see him continue to develop his overall foot speed so he can defend more positions. He already runs the floor at a very high level, rim running for open looks so the agility is clearly in there!
Marcus Allen Marcus Allen 6'6" | SF Norland (FL) | 2024 State #56 Nation FL 2024 6’6 Arizona Compass Prep (AZ)
Marcus is a skilled two way athlete who can play in the paint or on the perimeter, depending on the match up and what his team needs from him. He showed off his versatility playing either the three or the four depending on whether or not his dominant five is in the game. He provides great versatility on both ends of the court, perfectly playing that small ball four role. He can bang with you down low on the interior, or draw you out and dance around you on the perimeter and get to the rim.
He has a strong handle for his size, calmly getting to his spots across all three levels of the floor, especially getting to the rim. His versatility along with the high basketball IQ he has displayed on this team, playing off the ball, setting bone crushing screens and rolling at just the right time for easy looks around the rim.
