Kentucky Prospects Have Huge Impact with Indiana Elite
One of the top grassroots programs in the country features top Kentucky prospects. Indiana Elite has produced NBA talent across the board, including Eric Gordon, Tyler and Cody Zeller, Mason and Marshall Plumlee, Yogi Ferrell – and recent college stars Kelan Martin (Butler), Quinton Goodin (Xavier), and Quentin Snyder (Louisville).
Kentucky Meets Indiana
C.J. Fredrick and Jake Walter (both 2018’s from Covington Catholic) and Michael Moreno, Kyle Rode, and Korbin Spencer (all 2019’s) all reside on Indiana Elite’s roster. All rank near the top of their respective class rankings as well. Also representing Kentucky (and Covington Catholic), is Michael Mayer (2020).
Prospect Breakdown
C.J. Fredrick, Covington Catholic (2018)
Fredrick had an outstanding weekend in Dallas as the adidas Gauntlet circuit got going. He averaged 11 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He most recently picked up an offer from Nebraska, and currently holds other offers from Iowa, Wright State, Miami (OH), Ball State, Northern Kentucky, and Winthrop. Fredrick averaged just under 20 points per game for Covington Catholic as a junior this year.
Jake Walter, Covington Catholic (2018)
The 7’1 big man averaged a solid 5 points and 5 rebounds over the weekend for Indiana Elite, scoring 9 points and grabbing 4 rebounds against Dream Vision. At Covington Catholic, Walters averaged 6.8 points per game, shooting over 65% from the field. He also 7 rebounds per game. Offers from Ball State and Toledo.
Michael Moreno, Scott County (2019)
Moreno had a great game Sunday against Dream Vision on the 16u stage. In that game he poured in 19 points before leaving the game with an ankle injury mid-way through the 2nd half. Moreno is a talent forward with some guard skill. He helped lead Scott County to the state tournament this season, averaging 21.8 points and and 10 rebounds per game. He holds an offer from Ball State and a ton of interest from top programs from around the country.
Kyle Rode, Lexington Christian (2019)
Rode has turned into a key contributor of Indiana Elite early. The Lexington Christian forward helped lead LCA to it’s first ever district tournament title and regional appearance this season, averaging 14.5 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Korbin Spencer, Elliott County (2019)
Spencer helped lead Elliott County to yet another state tournament appearance this past high school season. As a junior he averaged 22.3 points per game. He has visited a number of schools including Wisconsin and Marshall.
Michael Mayer, Covington Catholic (2020)
Mayer is a freshman for the Colonels and played limited minutes this season. But that is sure to change with senior Cole VonHandorf graduating. Mayer had a solid weekend with the 15u team, scoring 10 points their first game against D1 Minnesota. At 6’3, Mayer is a freshman with great size for his position.
