Stock Risers: Orange County Wings and Bigs to look out for

Just a little bit south, where Orange County is located is some undervalued talent. In this article are some of the wings and bigs that I think should be followed over the next season as they show some great promise.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1502766' first='Carter' last='Bryant']</strong> – SF – 6'8” – 2024 Sage Hill</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There isn't too much I need to say about Carter as he is currently a top 10 prospect in the national 2024 rankings. One glance at him and you can see he is the total package on both ends of the floor. With that said, one thing I'm looking forward to seeing him grow this year is his passing ability. Looking to his future in the college game he will be playing with more talented players and I want to see how much he can incorporate that into his skillset a bit more.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='994920' first='Zack' last='Davidson'] </strong>– PF – 6'8” – 2023 Mater Dei</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The best player on the best team last year is looking to lead his team to a national title. Being a part of one of the most recognizable High School basketball teams in the nation, he has risen up to the occasion over the past seasons and will continue to improve this season. Finishing around the rim is easily his best attribute, but he rounds that out with a decent outside shot, and the ability to find open teammates while operating in the post.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1630650' first='Brandon' last='Benjamin'] </strong>– SF – 6'5” – 2025 Canyon</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most consistent players finishing at the rim and being active on the glass. He does it all on the court and does a great job of contributing in whatever way his team needs him to win. Coming off his freshman campaign, he has a lot of room to grow but has already shown a lot of potential.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1502819' first='Alex' last='Stewart']</strong> – SF – 6'6” – 2024 Pacifica Christian</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Starting his high school career at one of the best schools in the country (Mater Dei), Alex is looking to cement his own legacy. The 6'6” wing can guard all five positions with his agile defense in the paint and on the perimeter. On the offensive end, he definitely has room to grow, but he does already have a lot of those tools to succeed in these next two seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jack Warnick</strong> – SF – 6'5” – 2024 Trabuco Hills</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He got the opportunity to be on Varsity as a freshman but got a lot more time on the court last season as a sophomore. He looks to fill into the number one option for Trabuco Hills this season with his playmaking ability for himself as well as his teammates. Jack also is a triple-double threat where he is able to do everything on both ends of the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='994962' first='Rockwell' last='Reynolds']</strong> – PF – 6'8” – 2023 Santa Margarita</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Watching him on the court, he isn't the most coordinated athlete. But, he is always in the right spot at the right time. Trailing three, he's there. Blocking shots, he's there. Rolling to the rim and he will always be in the perfect spot. With his skill set, he will develop into a groomable big man this season that college coaches will salivate over.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Matt Mowers</strong> – PF/C – 6'4” – 2024 Trabuco Hills</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This big man has some of the quickest footwork with the ball for someone at his size that I have seen in a while. Getting the chance to be the starting big man for the first time, look for Mowers to use his high basketball IQ to make quick moves in the post and find open cutters while all the focus is on him. He also does a great job of dominating anyone in sight, even if the opposition is taller than him. With his unique build, college coaches may be drooling at what he might become over the next two seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
