There were 17 teams in attendance and over 20 college coaches in the building, giving players a great chance for exposure.
Here, we take a look at part two of some of the top performers from the Virginia high school programs in attendance.
You can watch all of the games live on the CBG Live Network.
Darrell Johnson | 6’5” F | Highland 2023
Johnson has shown time and time again at CBG events that he’s a prospect that is worth taking a shot at with his upside and his high energy and mismatch style of play. He’s a strong built player who can bang in the post and rebounds and finishes over players much bigger than him, he can step out on the perimeter where he’s a good straight line driver and loves to play through contact and he’s a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions too.
Julian Rivera Julian Rivera 6'1" | PG Highland | 2025 State VA | 6’1” PG | Highland 2024
Rivera continues his tear this fall with Highland School where he’s just gotten better and better every time CBG session, and it culminated this past weekend with one of the best games we’ve seen him play. He got hot quickly and stayed aggressive looking for his shot and scoring it in bunches, he showed he’s a big time shooter both off the catch and off the bounce and his feel and IQ for the game is very impressive as he seems to always make the right decisions.
Judah Egbo Judah Egbo 6'7" | C Life Christian Academy | 2023 State VA | 6’8” C | LCA 2023
Egbo had his moments playing against some very tough competition and teams that typically outmatched LCA, but that didn’t stop him from showing the potential that makes him a D1 prospect in my opinion. The 6’8” big moves so well for his size and gets up and down the floor easily, he has good pop and rises up and finishes above the rim and blocks shots with great timing and when he’s pushed he can do things others simply can’t do.
Amari Gray Amari Gray 6'2" | CG Life Christian Academy | 2023 State VA | 6’2” CG | LCA 2023
Gray has quietly been a very productive player in the Richmond area over the past few years, and he showed that this weekend as he did a little bit of everything for his LCA squad. He scored the ball in the midrange and around the rim well, he’s a good defender with good instincts on the ball and in help side and he’s a terrific rebounder for his position as well.
Curtis Blair | 6’5” WG | Steward School 2023
The Liberty commit has had a fantastic fall for Steward School in the CBG sessions as well as some other events, and he looks like he’s ready to be mentioned as a possible All Met Player of the Year candidate if he scores the ball the way he has so far this fall. He’s very good at getting to spots and using his body to create space and knock down tough shots in the midrange, he can spot up and knock down shots from deep and when he gets it going it doesn’t matter how well you guard him he can still score it in bunches.
Owen Gray Owen Gray 6'10" | C Steward | 2024 State VA | 6’8” C | Steward School 2024
Gray is starting to see his recruitment pick up since reclassifying to the 2024 class and his athleticism and high motor will make him very productive this year. He runs the floor hard and when he gets out in transition he looks to play above the rim, he has soft touch and can step out to the three-point line to make shots and he can move his feet defensively and challenge shots at the rim too.
