The third annual CBG Fall Series continued with Session 1 on Sunday at U-Turn, with 12 teams from all over VA and the DMV in attendance and a talent pool of prospects that was second to none. There were plenty of big time matchups, college coaches in attendance and a great atmosphere for preseason basketball.

We take a look at part one of some of the top juniors that were in attendance for session two.

If you want to watch the entire event, you can see it

[player_tooltip player_id='1403917' first='Troy' last='McKoy'] | 6'5” WF | CBG Elite

McKoy is set to blow up now that he's reclassified to the 2024 class and the fact that he doesn't hold any division one offers right now is simply baffling as he has the goods as a scorer and he has great size with a good frame too. The Massanutten wing may take some tough shots at times but he's shown the ability to make tough shots from multiple levels, he is a driller off the catch and he can create space on the perimeter to make shots and while he's slimmed down and gotten more bouncy he is still a strong finisher around the rim too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259838' first='Paul' last='Jones'] | 6'3” CG | CBG Elite

The combo hailing from Churchaldn in Portsmouth came to session 2 of the Fall Series to play for CBG Elite and while I liked him before hand he surpassed expectations with productivity and his overall game as well. Jones showed off his athleticism with his ability to stop on and dime and rise up to either finish at the rim or raise over defenders to make shots, he shot the ball very well from deep both off the catch and off the bounce and he showed a lot of craftiness and played at a different cadence than others making him even more difficult to guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489070' first='Danzelle' last='Coles'] | 6'3” PG | CBG Elite

Coles was another standout on the CBG Elite team, as the Highland Springs guard played his best against the top competition and showed that he has a ton of potential on both ends of the floor moving forward. He has cat like quickness off the bounce and while he needs to tighten up his handle a little bit he changes directions well and has good burst to blow by and get in the lane, he showed the ability to heat up quickly and knock down shots from deep in succession and he has great quickness defensively to stay in front and pick pockets on the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580728' first='Elijah' last='Adegbenro'] | 6'4” F | Fairfax Christian

Adegbenro may be a little bit undersized as their hybrid forward who plays multiple positions, but there's no doubt in my mind he's going to make a huge impact for Fairfax Christian this season. The 6'4” forward is super bouncy and he is always crashing for rebounds or cutting to the basket to use his athleticism to finish above the rim, his mix of strength and athleticism allows him to play much bigger than his size would lead you to think and he plays with a big time motor on both ends of the floor making winning plays for his team consistently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489078' first='Nijel' last='Howard'] | 6'7” PF | Fairfax Christian

Howard is starting to turn the corner after showing a lot of promise early in his career, and the 6'7” big man has a lot of versatility to him that a lot of coaches will like and see potential in. He has good length on his frame and should fill out nicely moving forward, he's mobile and can get up and down and also moves well laterally, he can score it in the paint and step out on the perimeter and he's becoming more consistent every time I see him play.

[player_tooltip player_id='999627' first='Wesley' last='Williams'] | 6'2” CG | Fairfax Christian

Williams is going to be key for Fairfax Christian if they're going to compete for another state championship this year, as the 6'2” combo guard will have to provide some scoring but also run the show and get them into sets as well. He was good at that at Session 2 picking his spots and scoring it efficiently and shooting it well from deep, controlling the tempo and knowing when to run and slow it down and he got others involved and made it easy for his teammates too.
