Malcolm Day Malcolm Day 6'5" | SF Old Mill | 2023 State MD | 6’6 | Takoma Academy ’23
Day had a dynamite performance at the DMV Elite 80 a few weeks back and as a result, picked up a couple of NAIA offers. At 6’6 he brings positional versatility and is capable of knocking down shots in bunches from beyond the arc. Where Day should catch the eyes of onlookers will be when he attacks the rim with a clear lane for takeoff. He has the explosive athleticism to throw down thunderous dunks and should also be on the receiving end of lobs in transition.
Dayjuan Gray | 6’6 | Takoma Academy ’23
Like Day, Gray was another standout from the DMV Elite 80 who generated offers based off his performance. He’s another dynamic wing/forward who brings versatility on both ends. Gray and Day also play with a toughness that is evident quickly in these sort of showcase events. I expect both of these guys to have productive afternoons and continue to show how they’ve developed different aspects of their games.
Tristan Cook Tristan Cook 6'0" | CG St. Maria Goretti | 2023 MD | 6’0 | St. Maria Goretti ’23
Cook should be one of the better guards in attendance with his ability on the ball. He’s quick, shifty and can knock down jumpers from mid-range and three. He also has plus length for his size that comes in handy with disrupting plays off the ball as a defender.
Joseph Baldwin Joseph Baldwin 6'7" | SF Fairfax Christian | 2023 VA | 6’7 | Fairfax Christian ’23
Baldwin certainly caught attention at the DMV Elite 80 and is a guy who passes the immediate eye-test thanks to his size and strong frame. When he’s aggressive like he was a few weeks ago, he has plenty of tools that college coaches need in their 3/4 man. Baldwin should have plenty of grab-and-go opportunities where he can showcase his versatility in the open floor.
Mason Ellison | 6’3 | Loyola Blakefield ’25
Ellison put himself on our radar with his play throughout the EBA Summer League. He’s a fluid, 6’3 guard that can score at a high volume. He’s effective at using his dribble for profit getting to his spots in the mid-range or to the rim with straight-line drives. Ellison gets good lift on his shot and has sound form on his release that results in a pretty rotation of the ball.
Falou Aw | 6’6 | Takoma Academy ’25
Another young prospect to watch will be Aw. He possesses good size at 6’6 and has a good approach to rebounding that helped him stand out in the category at the DMV Elite 80. When he has the ball around the rim, he’s patient and uses an array of moves or pump fakes to help create cleaner looks. He’s also aware of how to move effectively without the ball along the baseline or in transition where he plays off his guard’s penetration.
Ashton Kendall Ashton Kendall 5'10" | PG McDonogh | 2024 State MD | 5’10 | McDonogh ’24
Kendall will hold more scoring responsibility this season for the Eagles and his play in the EBA Summer League gave reason to believe that he’s up for the task. He’s another guard that can mix it up as a scorer and be a threat from all three levels. He uses his burst with his first step to gain an edge and has good body control as he stops on a dime and pulls up from 12-to-15 feet.
