Makaen Hastings Makaen Hastings 5'11" | PG Salina South | 2023 KS – Very familiar with the prep hoops circuit, Makaen came out today and did what he did best. Hastings is extremely shifty with the ball and does a great job of misdirecting the defense. Hastings draws a lot of attention when he has the ball because of all the things he can do with it. He uses the attention he gets to set up his teammates or get himself to the rim.
Nash Johnsen Nash Johnsen 6'7" | C Conway Springs | 2024 State KS – The 6’6″ junior showed his best Nikola Jovic impersonation today with some of his passes out of the post from the block. With his frame, he draws a lot of attention instantly and he uses it to his advantage by making plays for his team. No matter if you are cutting and he hits you with a bounce pass or lob over the top of the defender for the layup; or if you’re a shooter relocating and he hits you with a strike pass for another 3, Nash enhances his team production when he’s playing. On the defensive end, he makes a huge impact on the other end by altering and blocking shots in the paint. Johnsen understands that he needs to go straight up and
Collin Law- Law is one of those players you want on your team if you play an unselfish system because he fits right into that perfectly. The 6’2″ guard is always looking to make the extra pass on the swing when he gets it, which results in him passing up a good shot for a great shot leading to a 3. Collin doesn’t play around with the ball for long he immediately gets the ball swung into scoring areas for his team often getting hockey assist that is not counted for but are winning plays.
Isaiah Handy Isaiah Handy 5'10" | PG Junction City | 2025 KS – Handy is that traditional point guard that you love so much. The ones that set the team up where they need to be and make sure everyone touches the ball. One of his favorite things to do and is very well a strong suit is his ability to get into the paint, draw 2 defenders and dump it off to his post players under the rim for the finish. This happened countless numbers of times throughout the showcase which kept the morale of his team happy and competing.
Michael Williams- Also known as “Mikey” is as good as they come! He’s not a one-dimensional player he’s what we call a flat-out “basketball player” a guy that can do it all. If you back off he hits the jumper, if you pressure him he blows by you, if you send help he finds the open player, there just isn’t much he doesn’t do. He showed us many times that he will drive baseline and give us a reverse layup more awkwardly leaving the crowd in an “ooooh” moment. Don’t be surprised if you see Mikey “wow” you a few more times with the plays he makes.
