Mobasher will be returning to Colorado for another season after departing Thomas Jefferson. The point guard will be an immediate contributor given his shifty ballhandling and tendencies as a staunch perimeter defender. At right around 6′ tall, Mobasher is a tough guard to stop given his elite ballhandling talents, along with the progressing jump shot. Within the mid-range, the point guard showed promise rising up into shots coming off of crossovers. Arguably Mobasher’s greatest asset is his perimeter defense, where his quick feet and active hands make him a tough cover versus most 1s. Areas worth monitoring will be his decision making while attacking downhill and his shooting efficiency when contests.
Baye Ndongo Baye Ndongo 6'9" | PF Colorado Prep | 2023 #139 Nation CO – 2023
Currently the highest touted prospect with the program, Ndongo is showing no signs of slowing down at no less than 6’9. Ranking 3rd among the state’s 2023 class, Ndongo is a force on the interior. As a two-way rebounder, Ndongo’s size and mobility are too much to handle for the majority of opposing teams. With his athletic talents, the forward is dominant as a shot blocker, proving to stay disciplined on pump fakes. One area of noticeable improvement since I last caught him earlier this year, the jumper. Off the catch, the form is smoother and a little quicker than before, an area creating very high upside should be get consistent. Ndongo could be an incredibly diverse athlete within the NCAA, should the jumper continue to progress, we could be looking at Ndongo playing up to three positions on the offensive end. Areas worth monitoring will be his passing vision versus aggressive help defense and progression as a ballhandler under pressure. Ndongo has received a bunch of offers, including but not limited to Providence, Washington State, Cal, and Colorado.
Mathok Chol – 2023
Chol will be an intriguing name to join the program, standing at roughly 6’10+ as is. The big man will be an immediate help on the glass and interior as a shot blocker. One especially intriguing aspect with Chol will be his jump shot range, where he is already dependable within the mid-range and free throw. The forward fits into the mold of where modern big men need to be skill wise, as a transition threat and potential floor spacer. Chol also demonstrated those more fundamental, even retro moves with short hook shots and turnaround fadeaways.
Kayden Nation – 2023
Another new entrant for Colorado Prep, Nation will be a key contributor from the wing at roughly 6’6, 220 pounds. The incoming senior wing brings toughness and multi-positional defense, as someone capable banging with 3s and 4s. Nation is a consistent shooter off the catch, where he shows no signs of regression with a hand in his face. The wing brings high potential as an offensive rebounder as well, given his low center of gravity and mindset attacking the glass. Some areas of intrigue with Nation will be his ability to stay with guards out on the perimeter and confidence attacking with the left hand.
