When Michigan City leaned on their size advantage they made a couple of big comebacks. Dobre was a big part of both late runs as he scored consistently around the basket and cleaned the glass on both ends of the floor. The 6’7″ unsigned senior center finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds to lead Michigan City in the 67-56 loss to Portage.

One of the top unsigned senior big men in the state, Dobre is having a solid season after transferring from Marquette Catholic to Michigan City. The 9-5 Wolves have already beaten the likes of South Bend Adams and South Bend Riley this season. They play 13-0 Portage next Friday. Hopefully we will be able to be in attendance. Dobre averages 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Marquette Catholic is no stranger to taking some lumps in the regular season and then finding postseason success. The Blazers have won four straight, but still are just 9-11 overall. However, last season they finished 12-16 even after advancing to the Class 1A North Semi-State. Dobre, a 6’7″ forward/center, has been a big part of their success averaging 14.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game.
