Charlie is a two-way, versatile sharpshooter that can lift his team up in multiple ways on both sides of the ball. He has gorgeous touch on his jumpers and his range can take him well beyond the three-point line with ease. His motor is non-stop and he seeks out physicality both when defending and driving to the basket. He has unbelievably quick hands that make him a menace to opponents in passing lanes and in close coverage. He moves incredibly well without the ball and knows how to get open in his favorite spots on the floor. If there’s a loose ball up for grabs, Charlie’s going to be the first on the floor after it. Charlie was key in the Village’s win over Klein Forest on Sunday afternoon, doing a little bit of everything on both ends. Church was active on the boards even from the guard slot, tipping everything back out for second chance points or drawing fouls under the rim. He can stretch the floor with his deadly three point shot and can also create for himself and his team with some good IQ ballhandling. Charlie’s hustle was also very well noted, as he secured several loose balls and was essential in helping maintain the lead all game. He has definitely made his mark as one of the more underrated shooters in Houston and will look to make a big splash this year playing for the Village School.
