If there was a defensive player of the day award, it would definitely have gone to him as he took a high amount of pride on the defensive end of the floor. He picked up players full court, forced some rushed possessions and caused all types of disruptions for opponents. Offensively he put together some solid possessions, showing his ability to break down defenders and make plays when he gets into the paint.
The progression that he has made over the past year has been very impressive and he showed some flashes of what he does well on both ends of the court. On the defense end he guarded multiple positions and came up with several blocks, steals and deflections throughout the day. On the offensive end, he showed that he’s a very unselfish player that looks to make the correct play and doesn’t settle for the outside shot too often.
Highlights
One of the first attributes that catches your attention about this young man is how strong he plays in the paint. It’s rare to see a player at such a young age being able to not only battle with bigs 3-4 years older than him but also dominating some of those big men. He scored and rebounded at a nice rate, has plenty of upside and will be a player to keep a close eye on over the next few years.
Highlights
A player that always plays the game with a good amount of intensity and understands how to use his athletic ability to make plays. Regardless of if he was throwing down dunks offensively or blocking shots on the defensive side, he understands how to use his physical ability to be productive.
Another young prospect that we feel has plenty of upside and will be one that college coaches will be dropping in to see. He put together an outstanding showing in the first game of the day, make a high number of plays on both ends of the floor and showing his potential. He blocked shots at a high rate, ran the floor well and scored the ball from inside the paint and the perimeter at a solid rate throughout the day.
