AAU has officially come to a close for 2022 and with that comes a slew of recruiting updates following the live periods from both June and July. It's a good time to get a feel for some of the most sought after prospects locally and what their recruiting situations currently look like. Four of the top-10 ranked prospects have already made their college decisions and over the course of the next month or so, we could see more make their pledge to their future program.

Hansberry put the country on notice in the beginning of June as more power five programs got to witness his massive improvement with his body and overall versatility as a high-functioning big. At 6-foot-7, what he lacks in size he makes up for (and more) with his relentless efforts on the backboard, his seemingly never-ending motor and his high IQ on both ends. His game mirrors a lot of what Draymond Green brings, but his offensive skill set is more polished, especially when Green was Hansberry's age. Hansberry continues to ring in offers as he did with Oregon and West Virginia with his play down at Peach Jam, but they're in all likelihood much too late to the party. Hansberry is set to take an official to Miami starting today, with Illinois holding control of the recruitment at this point. Penn State doesn't lurk far behind and Virginia Tech has had a heavy presence at Hansberry's games since the beginning of June.

Coleman's recruitment has been interesting and somewhat tough to read over the last 6-to-8 weeks. Known for his natural ability as a three-level scorer, he brings great size at 6-foot-5 to go with athleticism as a combo guard. UConn snagged two commitments from MD/DC prospects in Solomon Ball and [player_tooltip player_id='1049870' first='Jayden' last='Ross'] to sure up their backcourt of the future. The Huskies were in pursuit of Coleman prior to these commitments, but have since likely backed off significantly. Programs such as Miami, Virginia Tech and LSU could be ones to watch while College of Charleston seems to be painting a picture to Coleman as coming in and being THE guy immediately. Where he schedules visits will be a good indicator where his head is at, but so far none are to be reported.

Mack is a stock-riser who took advantage of the June Live Period to showcase his ability as a primary ball-handler shot-maker from deep. The 6-foot-1 southpaw received offers from LM-HH programs including the likes of Ole Miss, George Washington, George Mason, Rhode Island, and Towson among others. With 17 offers in total, Mack will be another to monitor with how he plans visits from August-September.

Another high IQ lead guard from DC, Gillus didn't partake in AAU play this spring and summer. Instead, he used the time to focus on his body and to really polish the weaker areas of his game in order to return as a senior to what should be a loaded Sidwell Friends roster. We last saw Gillus at Maryland Team Camp where he was solid as a shot-maker from the mid-range off the bounce, orchestrated his team in sound fashion in a half court setting and provided good ball pressure on the defensive side. His recruitment is shaping up to be an Ivy League battle as he visited both Cornell and Penn recently. While playing AAU may have forced more programs to hesitate on pulling the offer trigger, it should be only a matter of time once the season rolls around if Gillus doesn't make a decision before then.

[player_tooltip player_id='1219879' first='Tyler' last='Perkins'] | Landon/Team Takeover National

Perkins' drastic ascent occurred in June and was sparked with a dominant performance throughout Maryland Team Camp parlayed with an impressive DMV Live showing. The 6-foot-4 lefty proved his worth as a three-level scorer who also has good instincts as a playmaker all while providing endless effort on the defensive side of the ball. He raked in 13 offers since the beginning of June and has taken a visit to Albany, which was Perkins' first Division I offer. Unfortunately, Perkins suffered a broken wrist while playing in the VA Beach Finale last week as many of the programs who have offered him packed in to keep an eye. Harvard, Lehigh, Dartmouth, William & Mary, American, James Madison, Navy, Loyola (MD), Cornell, Towson and Brown have all offered.

Ranking: No. 9

Williams put forth an impressive run over the last two months and capped it off in style as he helped lead Team Thrill to the 17U UAA Finals' championship. The 6-foot-3 guard has been scoring in a variety of ways and more importantly, in an efficient manner. He can make the defense pay on any straight-line drive, has the body control to pull up on the stop of a dime for mid-rangers and has become a legitimate knockdown shooter from beyond the arc. Williams also provides tremendous energy on the defensive end and has versatility to match up against either guard position. Clemson, VCU and Wake Forest are the three programs sticking out at this point, but sources tell Prep Hoops that a potential blue blood program could be very close to offering Williams after his successful July. An update will publish if that offer is made. No visits are planned yet, as you can expect Williams to take multiple once the school semester begins.
