We’ve already unveiled our All-Tournament teams for the 15u and 16u age groups with the 17u still be released on Wednesday. Before diving back into highlight the best of the best from the weekend in the Indianapolis area we wanted to go ahead and feature some additional stock-risers. These prospects did a lot for their recruitment while playing in front of a good crowd of Division II, Division III, NAIA, and Junior College coaches. Let’s dive right in and take a look at the stock-risers from the Grit Region Finals.

Divine Adeyanju (West Lafayette H.S. 2023/INB Elite 17u): In terms of physical tools and raw traits this 6’6" forward has it all. Adeyanju is incredibly strong, runs the floor well, and can go get rebounds outside of his area. Showed off some good footwork around the basket too. Finishes with his left hand around the rim. Plays with a high motor. Good small college 4/5 man prospect.

Dylan Beverly (Franklin H.S. 2023/Indiana Elite Side 17u): This 6’6" forward is super long and can play above the rim at the end of his drives. He looks more and more comfortable as a pick-and-pop threat, but is still at his best when he can attack a closeout. Saw him rip drive it along the baseline and finish with a big two-handed slam. Impressive athlete with some intriguing offensive skills.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049168" first="Jesse" last="Faires"] (Ben Davis H.S. 2023/D1 Indiana 17u): Faires had a lot of college coaches from a variety of different levels talking this weekend at Fishers High School. The 6’7" versatile forward showed off his wide array of offensive skills in impressive fashion. His three-point shot looked much improved, he scored with his back to the basket off of real post moves, and got some points from running the floor in transition as well. It was a breakout weekend for him that should really elevate his college interest.

[player_tooltip player_id="1462159" first="Dante" last="Favor"] (Canton H.S. 2023/Top 1 Basketball Club Select 17u): Favor has a versatile offensive skill set that really stood out to me on Sunday morning especially. The 6’6" forward handles the ball very well for his size displaying legitimate playmaking ability. He can also face-up and stretch the floor out to the three-point line. High upside to his game at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="1271102" first="Cooper" last="Matthews"] (Hamilton H.S. 2023/R4L 17u): This skilled 6’1" guard really had it working from the perimeter at the Grit Region Finals. Matthews can really shoot it from three-point range, creates for himself off of the bounce, and can create plays for his teammates as well. Should be a highly sought after prospect for small college programs in Ohio and the surrounding area.

[player_tooltip player_id="1371078" first="David" last="Sulnius"] (Stevenson H.S. 2023/Full Package Black 17u): 6’4" long, athletic wing with a smooth outside stroke and the size to slash to the basket and finish at the rim. Sulnius was a big factor in leading Full Package Black to a perfect 6-0 record and Grit Region championship. Really like the way he cuts off of the ball, attacks closeouts, and his catch-and-shoot ability from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id="935728" first="Dylan" last="Watson"] (Castle H.S. 2023/EG10 17u): Coaches that are looking for size definitely should consider this 6’9" center. Watson plays with a good motor, has good finishing ability when he is near the rim, and rebounds his area well. Projects as a good post defender as well. He takes up space and can be in the way at the rim defensively. Small college coaches should be evaluating him.

Jon Weah (Sun Prairie H.S. 2023/E2E Elite 17u): Elite athlete, super shifty, and an all-around dynamic playmaker. That is the best way to describe Weah’s game. He played very well in a win over INB Elite on Sunday showing off his ability to penetrate the defense seemingly at will. Love his upside as a two-way point guard.
