The Grit Region Finals happened this past weekend in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. In this article, we want to take a look at a few underrated players. These guys had a nice weekend and they may have been overlooked. Check these players out, they deserve your attention!

Under The Radar

[player_tooltip player_id="1384282" first="Cameron" last="Hundley"] (All In Athletics 2024 Gilbert Black)

He was extremely active on the defensive end while getting steals at the point and taking it the other way for acrobatic layups. Cameron is a scorer with flair that loves to make nifty plays around the rim. Hundley has range on his shot to well beyond the three point arc. He is a smooth ball handler that has acceleration to beat opposing players in the open court. Cameron makes good reads as a passer on the move, and can hit a three off the catch or side step. He is definitely an underrated 2024 backcourt player.

Ian Dow (All In Athletics 2024 Gilbert Black)

He had a cool 32 points in the first game against Anchor Basketball. Ian led his team to a tightly contested 73-70 win. Dow is a shifty ball handler that can create off the dribble, at times he made defenders look silly. He can also get out in transition with his speed and finish around or through contact at the cup. He thrives at setting up his 3-point shot with a sweet hesitation move. He has shifty moves that keep his defenders off-balance, they never know if he will pull-up or drive. Dow has also been an elite three-point shooter this summer!

AJ Levine (Big3 Basketball 2024)

He is a scoring guard that has a clean pull up game. AJ's shot was looking good this past weekend. He is equally impressive from mid-range and beyond the arc. Levine is much more than a shooter. He constantly wins battles and beats defenders off the bounce with his slick handles. Levine can create his own looks and he knows how to get to his spots for great shots. He also has showed excellent court vision and deleivered many flashy passes.

Vincent Rogalski ([player_tooltip player_id='2391665' first='Kessel' last='Heat'] 17U)

He is a 16U player but was playing up an age group. Vincent can really shoot the rock. He was draining triples in bunches at the Grit Region Finals. Rogalski is the type of player that you do not want to leave alone. He can stroke it from 3pt land and he also has a crisp pull-up jumper. Vincent is a crafty slasher that knows how to draw conact and get to the line. Rogalski is a talented offensive player.

[player_tooltip player_id="939076" first="Xavier" last="Sulaiman"] (Hoops4Health 17U)

He was all the talk coming out of the tough loss against Full Package Black 17U. Sulaiman is a super athletic 6'3” guard that had 38 points including four three-pointers in that loss. Xavier has been excellent throughout all of the Prep Hoops Events and he saved one of his best performances for the Grit Region Finals. Sulaiman is an impressive dunker, drains triples, and he makes an impact on defense. Check this player out!

[player_tooltip player_id="1476096" first="Aidyn" last="Boone"] (Full Package Black 17U)

6-0 and Champs this past weekend! He had a great first half while gathering around 20 first half points as his Full Package Black squad cruised to a Championship victory. Boone shot the ball at a high level from downtown and was using pump-fakes to get the defense to jump before a side-step 3-pointer, which worked twice for big shots. Boone and his team played a complete performance and were well deserved Champions in the 17U bracket.

Liam Taylor (Big3 Basketball)

He is a scary threat on the offensive side of the ball. Taylor handles it, passes it, and shoots it well. Liam sees the floor like a hawk and he can zip passes all over the court with his size over smaller defenders. When he gets a bit of space, Liam can also stroke it from the outside. He has no trouble creating his own shots. Taylor is a good looking player with potential.

Cayden Mudd (Fundamental U 2024)

He had a very nice showing at the Grit Region Finals. Mudd put his team on his back and carried them to a victory. The 5'11” 2024 guard can shoot it from deep distance and cash in threes. He can also score going to the basket. Cayden was extremely impressive when finishing over bigger defenders. Mudd was relentlessy getting into the paint to make plays for himself and his squad.
