The Vashon Wolverines reigned supreme once again in Class 4 as they won the state championship game for the second consecutive year. The Wolverines defeated Bolivar 44-32 in a very slow-paced championship game. Kearney took home third place with a 50-40 victory over Parkway Central. Here is a look at the Class 4 Final Four All-Tournament Team: Most Outstanding Player: Daniel "Peanut" Farris 5'11" (Vashon): The 2017 point guard concluded his career in high style by leading the Wolverines to their second consecutive state championship. Farris averaged 15 points, three rebounds and four assists in the Final Four, but those numbers tell only a small part of the story. His leadership and ability to make his teammates better made him one of the best point guards in the state. Peanut controlled the pace of the game to whatever speed he wanted to play at the moment. The Next Five Levi Stockard 6'8" (Vashon): The 6'8" Kansas State signee had a strong weekend on both ends of the floor for the Wolverines. He had 14 points, five rebounds and a block in the semifinals against Kearney. In the championship game, he had five points, seven rebounds, two steals and did an outstanding job defensively without getting into foul trouble. Levi is a big, strong post who will be a welcome addition to the Kansas State program next season. Brandon Emmert 6'6" (Bolivar): The burly 6'6" Central Missouri signee closed out his career with an outstanding weekend in leading the Liberators to a runner-up finish. Emmert had 24 points and nine rebounds in the semifinals against Parkway Central. He followed that up with 18 points against Vashon in the championship game. Emmert displayed tremendous low-post fundamentals from his footwork, positioning and ability to score with both hands. He was also Bolivar's secondary ball handler on offense as well. Conley Garrison 6'1" (Bolivar): Garrison wrapped up a stellar career with a nice showing at the Final Four. He had 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in a dominant performance against Parkway Central in the semifinals. He finished with 12 points in the championship game against Vashon. Garrison displayed a great deal of confidence as a ball handler and scorer throughout the Final Four. He finished at the rim well and knocked down a couple of long jumpers off dribble. Koray Gilbert 6'3" (Vashon): The lanky 2017 wing displayed a nice shooting stroke in the Final Four where he was four of six from long distance. His back to back 3-pointers in the championship game broke the game open in the second quarter. In the semifinals, he finished with 11 points. Gilbert is quietly one of the most talented wing players around with his ability to shoot the deep ball, slash and make mid-range jumpers. He has already earned a couple of Division II offers from Missouri Southern and Missouri Western after his strong postseason play. Dylan Ritz 6'1" (Kearney): The 2017 point guard displayed a lot of swag in Kearney's semifinal loss to Vashon with his ball handling and attacking the basket off the dribble. He finished with a game-high 16 points as he played without fear against Vashon's pressure defense. He also added another 11 points against Parkway Central in the Bulldogs' victory in the third-place game.
