2023 Rankings Update: Floor Generals

<p>The class of 2023 rankings has been updated, and with that, there has been a lot of movement in the rankings and many new names added to the list. Here are our picks for some of the top floor generals running the point guard spot in the state of Colorado.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1284426" first="Jeremiah" last="Coleman"] - Colorado Prep</strong></p> <p>The South Dakota commit is a super athletic guard with snappy dribble moves making him very hard to stay in front of. Using quick moves Jeremiah is able to pass defenders either to acrobatically finish at the rim or find an open teammate. When Jeremiah is driving to the basket he draws a lot of eyes and is great at dropping dish off passes to cutting teammates. From beyond the three-point arc, his shot has improved year by year. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1284422" first="Colin" last="Hawkins"] - Colorado Prep</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1284422" first="Colin" last="Hawkins"] has boosted his stock moving into the top 10 of the class. Colin is a bulky big guard who knows how to use his size to his advantage. When getting to the basket he does a good job using his jump stop and playing off of two feet. With the ball near the basket, he is very patient using his pivot to find the best positioning for a layup, turn around jumper, or pass to an open teammate. Colin when going downhill has a lot of moves but one of his best is the spin move where he uses his physicality to shake off defenders. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1284528" first="Gavin" last="Hershberger"] - Rock Canyon</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1284528" first="Gavin" last="Hershberger"] is a true pass-first point guard who is good at getting teammates into good spots. Gavin uses his quickness and eyes to mislead defenders. While Gavin is a great passer he is not a defensive assignment a player can take lightly, from three-point range he has a knockdown shot and near the basket has a very good package of floaters. Gavin has consistently shown that he is a high IQ guard with his smart decision-making with the ball in his hands.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1420178" first="Peyton" last="Torres"] - Eagle Ridge Academy</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1420178" first="Peyton" last="Torres"] is a big point guard who looks best when pushing the tempo of the game. On the defensive end of the floor, Peyton is good at jumping passing lanes to start fastbreaks. With the ball in his hands on fastbreak opportunities, he is a threat to finish at the rim or find an open teammate. After a missed shot in the halfcourt or fastbreak setting Peyton is very good at following shots and is often seen making tip-ins for great second-chance opportunities. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1284597" first="Tyler" last="Casey"] - Columbine</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1284597" first="Tyler" last="Casey"] is a quick, scrappy guard who has been balling out this AAU season. Tyler has a very tight handle on the ball and some great changes of pace that makes him hard to stay in front of. His change of pace works due to his quick trigger on his jump shot that he can shoot quickly while stopping on a dime. Watch out for Tyler to have a big year next year at Columbine</p>
