A three-sport standout for Fredericktown, Toombs plays football, basketball and track for his high school. Fredericktown is currently 5-3 on the football season and control their own destiny to make the playoffs. In the summer, Toombs was a part of Nova Village’s 16 U UA-Rise championship team. As a Sophomore, Toombs was also named honorable mention all state for Division III.

I caught Nova Village’s 16 U squad in Cincinnati during the live period last weekend, the team could’ve used more scoring from their big men. When I saw them this weekend, I immediately noticed how Toombs scoring ability combined with his size gives their guards more space to operate and create. Toombs knocked down some open shots and made himself available off the ball. Helping his team win the championship this weekend, Toombs and Nova Village 16 U are a team to keep close eyes on across central Ohio and beyond. A small-town stud who excels on both the gridiron, hardwood and even track, Toombs should draw recruiting interest in multiple sports.

The last prospect continues the theme of multi-sport athletes. Toombs is wrapping up a football season that saw him help Fredericktown qualify for the playoffs with a week 10 victory over rival Centerburg. Another big bodied tight end similar to Albers who can make an impact in both the passing and blocking game, Toombs has the size and athleticism to excel in multiple sports. Expect a huge winter on the hardwood for Toombs who should be one of the most dominant interior forces in the KMAC.

A small-town standout, Toombs showed his talents with Nova this season with some big games on the UA Rise Circuit at the 15 U level. Also a football standout, Toombs has the body to perform on the football field as a linebacker/TE and on the basketball court as a forward. Transferring to Fredericktown for his Sophomore season, I expect Toombs to be one of the most dominant forces in the KMAC despite only being an underclassman. With his ability to stretch the floor and score in the paint, Toombs will have mismatches no matter where he’s positioned this winter.

Toombs made a statement about his game at the PH Circuit event. There’s a lot to like about what he brings to the table as a prospect. His combination of power and versatility make him a unique player. Toombs can bang on the block and get bulldog buckets, but he also showed that he can step out, face the rim, and attack off the bounce or with a jumper.

Toombs was really impressive for Nova today. He is a big strong kid that has a solid build. He showed some great ability to score around the rim. He got to the rim often and was very efficient. Finished well with both hands. I was really impressed with his ability to slash to the rim from the perimeter. He is a straight-line drive that takes it in strong. He’s got some sneaky good bounce. This and his strength allowed him to finish great through traffic. He absorbed contact well. Toombs also showed the ability to knock down a shot if left open.
