The Circuit came back to Arizona at the Phhacility in Phoenix/AZ for the Bash in the Desert.

The 17U division kicked things off this weekend only for the first night and I viewed 10 teams.

Here were some top shooters from the 17U Division on Friday night:

[player_tooltip player_id="1024121" first="Chase" last="Pavey"] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select 2023 James) (Pictured)

A sturdy framed shooting guard can catch and shoot from the 3pt line. He can pull-up from mid-range and thinks the game. He is calm inside and goes to work to score it. He went for 30 points on opening night!

Kai Bickham G 5’9 2023 Alamogordo/NM (Rebels Elite NM 2023)

A scoring guard who is a knockdown shooter. He has a thicker frame and squares up like you should and releases the ball before the defense closes out. He can get into the paint and use the floater. He also plays hard on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id="1444079" first="Elijah" last="Foster"] Mesquite (TaylorMade Elite 2023)

A 3 and D type who checks many boxes. He is relentless on defense with his long arms, high motor, aggressive play and athleticism. He blocks shots, collect steals and will catch and shoot from the 3pt line.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284480" first="Ryder" last="McConnell"] Sterling/CO (Colorado Titans 2023 Gold)

A natural shooter is the teams floor spacer. He is mostly a catch and shoot 3pt shooter but gives shot fakes and gets to the basket. He relocates to find open spots in the defense and plays a smart floor game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1162451" first="Jayce" last="McGuirk"] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select 2024 UAA)

A combo guard who can play on or off the ball. He can get hot from deep as he will catch and shoot from the 3. He has a hard jab step he uses and will then burst to the rim versus bigger players on a switch.

Mykelti Dillard-Smith SG 6’0 2023 Minnehaha/MN (Real Phenom 2023 Silas)

A thicker shooter with long arms and a sturdy frame. He is another that likes to catch and shoot from the three point line but he can also pull-up from mid-range. He is a top-notch rebounder for his size using his girth, toughness and strong hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="1136425" first="Ethan" last="Faas"] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Firestorm 2023-1)

Some players get hot during games and makes it very easy. Faas fell into that category. He is a thicker framed forward who is a face-up type. He rattled off three after three and stayed hot beyond the arc. He also can work inside with hook shots with his dominant left hand and rebound with two hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="1340752" first="Alex" last="Wells"] Eastmark (TaylorMade Elite 2023)

A long scoring guard who can shoot it to the 3pt line. He can make tough shots in traffic with either hand using nice body control. He can get hot from the stripe, he rebounds and is sneaky athletic. He uses his length in the passing lanes to deflect many balls.
