Drive 5 was on fire all weekend with great players, coaches, and teams getting after it in a highly competitive environment which made watching and analyzing hoops a ton of fun this weekend. Luckily, I got to be stationed at Drive 5 around all of the action so coverage will be centered around those that played there during the #PrepHoopsLive that I was able to see.

Stock Boosters at Drive 5 this Weekend

Diontay Kernal, 6’3 Wing, I Am 3 2025: An athletic wing who can play and guard a variety of positions. Is aggressive and a monster on the glass especially on the defensive boards. Is a break starter with the ball and can be a one man break. Strong finisher and can absorb contact well in the paint and has the ability to knock down open looks from the perimeter. Had a big time weekend across the 4 game stretch. A name to watch moving forward.

Mikey Williams, 5’11 G, SSA Elite 2025 Black: Had his best weekend of the spring so far, putting together 4 quality outings on both ends of the floor. Showcased the IQ to be a standout lead guard on the basketball floor by making extra passes, kicking or dumping down to open teammates, and was really good at kicking the ball up ahead to create scoring advantages for teammates. Knocked down multiple threes over the course of the weekend off the swing and off kick outs, and was much more efficient scoring it in the paint on drives or in transition scoring opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id="1155933" first="Nash" last="Johnsen"], 6’6 C, Kansas Team 2024: The Conway Springs big is a long forward/center prospect who had a really strong weekend controlling both painted areas. Was tremendous on the offensive glass and finishing put backs, scored it in the post game, and can screen and roll into the paint for catch and finish opportunities or rebound misses. Does a solid job of walling up on defense and blocking shots from the help side.

Amari Washington, 6’2 Wing, Iowa Barnstormers 2025: The lefty is a strong and versatile prospect who really took off on Sunday. Has a great face up game where he can rise up and knock down jumpers or attack. Is a nice piece in transition trailing the play to catch and knock down threes or spring into screening action. Defends with his frame well is tough to knock off his spots and rebounds it at a high level. Also nice off the triple threat jabbing defenders off and then lifting for jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1385618" first="Mikey" last="Brand"], 6’3 Wing, Team Dream 2024 (Pictured): A versatile player who has a wide skill set to contribute in all facets of the game. Has some length to him so he can see over defenders and deliver great passes to teammates, can stretch out and score over multiple defenders, can shoot the 3 ball some, and is efficient scoring off the bounce. Really high basketball IQ from the Carroll Wing, truly understands where to be at on defense, how to find open guys on offense, and when to pick spots to attack. Had a couple of Top Performer awards this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="1270099" first="Robert" last="Basks"] Jr, 6’1 SG, Team Dream 2024: The dynamic scoring guard continues to progress and improve his already rising stock. Had a great start to the spring in the opening live weekend and in weekend two, really made a staple for his game. A high level shooter, a big time scorer with the ball, and can compliment his teammates greatly with his shooting and aggressive mindset. This spring and especially this weekend, showcased how he can integrate in a ton of offensive situations

Will Cravens, 6’2 G, Kansas Team 2024: Has put people on notice with his high level scoring ability especially from behind the perimeter, but during his moments at Drive 5 this weekend, scouts were able to see his ability to be a play maker and guard who can get his guys great touches on the floor. Like his ability with his athleticism to be a premier perimeter defender as well.

Wes Gudeman, 6’4 F, Iowa Barnstormers Gold 2025: Was a physical force inside all weekend and gave his squad a nice presence all weekend. Does a great job of getting to his baby hooks or finding angles to score over size and length. Gudeman also has a knack for finding misses for offensive put backs or if he misses, snagging his own missed shots for another opportunity or getting to the foul line. Really solid at attacking from the elbow area extended as well.

Landon Knopp, 6’4 W, SSA Elite 2025 Black: An extremely long and athletic wing player who can be steady throughout a game with his defense and 3 point shooting off the catch or provide instant bursts of offensive or explosive plays that lead to mini runs in ball games. Has a nice complimentary runner and floater game that is tough to contest with his length and bounce off the floor. Has the lateral ability to be a lock down perimeter defender and rebounds is well. The Manhattan High product has a very high ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id="1288666" first="Henry" last="Eliason"], 6’5 Wing/Forward, Minnesota Heat 2023: A super versatile 2023 prospect from Minnesota who was nice to catch towards the end of the weekend. Can step out and knock down shots with a good looking jumper, create windows to score in the paint, long arms get him clean looks over the top, and he can get up to the rim in transition. Hard working player who’s stocks should get a nice bump after this weekend with his skillset, frame, and motor.
