Over the weekend, many prospects from around the country travelled to Pittsburgh to play in the annual HoopGroup Pitt Jam Fest. However, some of the top players in the event did not have to travel too far at all to show off their talents.

Here, I break down the top wings and forwards from Western PA-based teams that played this weekend in Pittsburgh.

Zavea Green - 6’5 F, Rytes Warriors

Green is a long forward that showed off the ability to stretch his jumper out to hit multiple long twos. Smart footwork in the post offensively, and good shot-blocking presence on the defensive end in the paint. Projects as a three with great size at the next level. He really impressed with the way he moves, whether out on the break or winding through the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id="1188543" first="Jaden" last="Gales"] - 6’6 F, Legendz

Gales is one of the strongest players in the Pittsburgh area. Explosive small forward that has expanded his game further and further outside in AAU play. Started off a big game against Rytes with two threes and a few strong drives. Gales led Canevin to a WPIAL title in the winter and is now showing off his length and athleticism on the circuit.

Zion Barksdale - 6’7 F, Legendz

Barskdale is a tall and lengthy wing/forward with great footwork and athleticism. Tremendous shot blocker in the post, at the rim, and outside. Even if he's a step behind, has the ability to catch up with his length. Barksdale uses the rim to his advantage on the offensive end, dipping under the rim and softly finishing on both sides.

Josiah Gonzalez, 6’4 G/F, PK Flash

Gonzales plays like a big guard. if he can get quicker can possibly project as a two-guard. The physical prospect played smart all weekend. Whether he was driving through the lane in isolation situations called by his coaches or pulling up from outside off the dribble, Gonzales continued to put the ball in the bucket in front of numerous college coaches watching.

[player_tooltip player_id="991228" first="Langston" last="Moses"], 6’3 F, Rytes

Moses caught my eye instantly in the first of multiple games I saw Rytes play. He has grown so much over the past year and looked like a completely different player than when I checked him out at Central Catholic in the high school season. Moses extended his game out to the three-point line and hit from outside all weekend. Moses is a big, powerful wing and with his improved outside game, he looked like a much more complete player. Physical defender as well.
