Savoury was a big reason that OLSM had a lead early and were close throughout. He had a strength advantage and he used if more than effectively on 50-50 balls and on the glass. Savoury did everything that he could to set a tone of toughness for his team. He finished with 8 points and 6 boards, 4 of them on the offensive end.

The easy answer here would have been McKenney. But I decided to go with Savoury. I think he was a difference maker last year and will be again this year. His combination of size, strength, skill and fluidity of movement just aren’t found every day. Savoury can match up with many as well as be tough to match up with for many.

Savoury can just do things that most people can’t. He can hang in the air for that extra split second, change his direction on a dime and get off the ground in a hurry. Savoury is an elite multi sport athlete.

Savoury is playing with Midwest Basketball Club 16u and is proving that he’s a must see player this grassroots season. His mid range game and his slipperiness around the rim has really stood out. Savoury has found lanes to the rim and open spaces around it, and finished strong in those spots. He’s rose above defenders on his mid range jumpers and looked very comfortable shooting and scoring even in traffic.
