As one of the deepest counties in the state, Union County has a wealth of riches when it comes to basketball talent. Today we feature a few more players who are going to see their stock rise over the summer and into their senior year. We’ll begin looking at underclassmen in Union County tomorrow.

[player_tooltip player_id="1430120" first="Isaiah" last="Fuller"] | 5’11” | G| Roselle High

Fuller was a dose of instant offense on Chestnut Street after transferring in from Eagle Academy in NYC. He’s a silky-smooth guard and is a do it all leader that can score in a variety of ways, handles the ball exceptionally well and can shoot it from deep. His junior season got cut short due to an injury just as the Rams were hitting their stride but he’s back at it on the AAU circuit. Fuller plays for the NJ Beasts. Sources inside the RHS program have said he is receiving interest from D1 and D2 schools. A strong summer and senior season will see his stock continue to rise. His injury rendered him one of the more under-the-radar players in the county. Should be in line for a big senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1396264" first="Elijah" last="Motley"] | 6’0” | G | Linden

Linden always has guards. Doesn’t matter if it was 1960, 1990 or 2022. Linden lives on guards. Motley played a supporting role this past winter for Nigel Merville. Next year, he’ll be the key to the Tigers offense. A creative playmaker who attacks defenders and finds the smallest of holes to make impactful passes. Confident shooter and also has quick hands on defense. Best performances this year were against Union(13pt,5stl) and Egg Harbor(16). He’ll need to hit the weights a little bit to get stronger for college play but his skill set is more than capable of being a contributor at the next level and as such, colleges should be interested…Because…You don’t pass on talented kids who play at schools that used to be in the mighty Watchung Conference. Plays AAU for Team New Jersey.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150537" first="TJ" last="Halloran"] | 6’3” | G | Westfield

A bigger guard who’s capable of playing any backcourt role. He’s strong attacking the hoop and plays within himself. Patient, high basketball IQ and a good passer. He emerged as an all around player as a junior for a tough Westfield team that tackled a tough schedule. He had 7 pts in a nailbiter against traditional Philadelphia power St Joe’s Prep and came up with some big plays on defense in that Metro Classic win. From a scoring perspective, he had solid performances against some contenders, including 17 vs Hackensack and 15 vs Egg Harbor. While he’s capable of scoring, his biggest value is that he’s an all around player who can play defense, get rebounds and steals, dish out assists and as icing on the cake, go off for points if called upon. He has played AAU with the Shoreshots and a laundry list of D3 coaches should be spending quite a bit of time this coming season on the corner of Rahway Ave and Dorian Road.

[player_tooltip player_id="1013064" first="Ted" last="Gregoire"] | 6’6” | F | Roselle Park

Roselle Park may be one of the smallest schools in the county, but they have one of the best big men right now. Gregoire has been a force for the Panthers. He’s a big bodied forward and a top level football recruit, tipping the scales at a muscular 250lb. He uses his size to push opponents around in the paint on both ends of the floor and was a double-double a night guy for much of his junior season. He’s also athletic and runs the floor well for a guy his size and is also a good ballhandler for a “football first big.” His top games as a junior were vs Hopatcong(26pt,22reb), Koinonia(17&23) and Brearley(18&18). He’s played AAU for the Force. He has football offers from Monmouth and Akron as of this writing.
