Though a lot of our staff’s attention will be focused on The Stage, our Prep Hoops Circuit event coming to Indianapolis this weekend, there are other great events going on as well. We will also be piecing together coverage from the UAA/UA Rise circuits, the 3SSB/Adidas Gold circuits, and NY2LA which are all taking place in Indianapolis as well. A good amount of the top Indiana talent will be taking part in NY2LA’s Spring Extravaganza which will primarily be hosted by Ben Davis High School. Focusing on the 17U Division in this preview, 94 Feet Elite, George Hill All Indy, George Hill All Indy Unsigned, Indy EBC Blue, Indy EBC White, Kyle Guy Elite Black, Kyle Guy Elite White, and Southern Indiana Blaze all will take part in the event.

94 Feet Elite

This is a very talented roster comprised mostly of northwest Indiana/Chicagoland prospects. Running the point will be Jamie Hodges Jr. (Michigan City H.S. 2023) a smaller, but electric playmaker. Physical wings [player_tooltip player_id="868227" first="Kamari" last="Slaughter"] (Portage H.S. 2023) and [player_tooltip player_id="1042493" first="D.J." last="Moss"] (Gary 21st Century 2023) also suit up for this squad. Slaughter is a 6’3" guard with great strength and driving ability. Moss is 6’4" with a smooth lefty stroke and the ability to get up and finish above the rim on his drives. Another prospect to watch here is 6’6" [player_tooltip player_id="1167896" first="Lukas" last="Balling"] (Marquette Catholic 2023). Balling is an interesting inside-outside threat with the size to finish inside while also shooting 44% from 3 during the high school season on 31 makes.

George Hill All Indy

One of the top grassroots teams in Indiana this spring/summer, George Hill All Indy is loaded with talent led by 4-star big man [player_tooltip player_id="868219" first="Xavier" last="Booker"] (Cathedral H.S. 2023). The 6’11" forward makes his debut with GHAI this spring after a great showing out at USA Basketball Junior Team Mini-Camp last weekend. [player_tooltip player_id="1391463" first="Garwey" last="Dual"] (Carmel H.S. 2023) has already burst onto the scene this spring earning his first Division I offers from IUPUI and UAB after a great showing in Wisconsin last weekend. In the backcourt, [player_tooltip player_id="1273713" first="Sheridan" last="Sharp"] (Ben Davis H.S. 2023) and [player_tooltip player_id="868243" first="Keyon" last="Garrett-Miller"] (Southport H.S. 2023) both are playing at a high level as well.

George Hill All Indy Unsigned

This group featuring some of the top unsigned seniors in Indiana will also be taking part in the Spring Extravaganza. A couple of the top guys to watch here are [player_tooltip player_id="870215" first="Nick" last="Klaiber"] (Bloomington H.S. North) a super athletic 6’2" guard that is very good off of the dribble and 6’7" forward Antonio Lisenbee (Arsenal Tech H.S. 2022) that protects the rim, rebounds at a high level, and finishes above the rim.

Indy EBC Blue/White

A pair of strong, athletic 6’5" forwards headlines the EBC Blue team with [player_tooltip player_id="1049159" first="Jeffery" last="Pinkston"] (Indianapolis Tindley 2023) and [player_tooltip player_id="1162771" first="Kameron" last="Patterson"] (Indianapolis Lutheran 2023). Both are good rebounders, finish around the basket, and show impressive upside. For the EBC White group, 6’1" guard [player_tooltip player_id="1391284" first="Jaquan" last="Ingram"] is one to watch. He can really shoot the basketball and handles it well enough to create his own shot as well. Will attract some college attention as he puts up big numbers this spring.

Kyle Guy Elite Black

Carrying the name of former Indiana Mr. Basketball Kyle Guy, this team features a lot of the same names that made up the Grassroots Indiana program last summer. 6’2" guard [player_tooltip player_id="1049171" first="Dylan" last="Moles"] (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2023) is coming off of a great junior campaign. Excellent scorer with a sweet shooting stroke. Speaking of shooting ability, 6’4" [player_tooltip player_id="1273049" first="Landon" last="Biegel"] (Oak Hill H.S. 2023) is among the best pure shooters in the class and will continue to attract college attention throughout the spring and summer. 6’5" forward [player_tooltip player_id="868230" first="Preston" last="Roberts"] (Noblesville H.S. 2023) is an excellent athlete that will be worth following as well.

Kyle Guy Elite White

[player_tooltip player_id="1226596" first="Cade" last="Brenner"] (NorthWood H.S. 2023), who was just named to the Indiana Junior All-Star team, headlines this group. Ranked as a Top 25 prospect by Prep Hoops Indiana, the 6’2" scoring guard should see the offers roll in sooner rather than later. 5’11" lead guard [player_tooltip player_id="868264" first="Drew" last="Cook"] (Northview H.S. 2023) is another one to watch here after averaging over 20 points per game during the high school season. Really crafty scorer. Out on the wings, [player_tooltip player_id="1139498" first="Kaleb" last="Kellems"] (North Harrison H.S. 2023) and [player_tooltip player_id="1224253" first="Mase" last="Hughes"] (Lawrence North H.S. 2023) are names worth remembering.

Southern Indiana Blaze

Fresh off of a state championship, 6’3" wing [player_tooltip player_id="1273735" first="Casey" last="Thomas Kaelin"] (Providence H.S. 2023) will suit up with the Southern Indiana Blaze along with some other good talent from down near the river. [player_tooltip player_id="868258" first="Kaden" last="Oliver"] (Silver Creek H.S. 2023), [player_tooltip player_id="1268378" first="Landon" last="Fritsch"] (Seymour H.S. 2023), and [player_tooltip player_id="1142146" first="Eli" last="Meyer"] (Seymour H.S. 2023) are all good players coming off of strong high school seasons. An intriguing forward to watch for small college programs would be 6’6" Jamir Carnell (Ben Davis H.S. 2023).
