Historically one of the best AAU programs in the state, Wisconsin Playground Club returns in the 2022 AAU season with another squad brimming with college talent.

Let’s take a look at the roster for Wisconsin Playground Club’s 17U team:

[player_tooltip player_id="1026710" first="Daniel" last="Robinson"] -- CG -- Waukesha South

Robinson saw his stock skyrocket last summer during the AAU season, and I don’t see why this campaign should be any different. The guard out of Waukesha South is an explosive player that loves to get downhill and finish at the rim. Also a deadly pull up shooter, Robinson is a prospect that will catch the eye of some college programs at tournaments this spring/summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="981038" first="Demerius" last="Shakur"] -- CG -- Martin Luther

I really like presence of Shakur. When he is on the floor, things just seem to run smoother for his team. Capable of playing either guard position with no issue, Shakur is an unselfish player that always looks to get his teammates involved before worrying about himself. He is a very solid rebounder for a guard, as he has no fear when fighting for boards amongst bigger players.

[player_tooltip player_id="988698" first="Josiah" last="Butler"] -- SG -- Fox Valley Lutheran

Butler is an uncommitted 2022 prospect that is joining Playground with the hopes of finding a school that fits. Any college programs looking for a shooting guard that is a pure scorer should definitely take a look at Butler. The FVL standout is always cool, calm, and collected. Big moments don’t scare him. Last summer, he had a knack for making big-time shots when his Crusaders team needed it most.

[player_tooltip player_id="963148" first="Cal" last="Klesmit"] -- CG -- Neenah

It is really unfortunate that Klesmit got hurt when he did. Prior to his injury, the Neenah combo guard was playing his best basketball and really making a name for himself. Tearing his ACL is no doubt a setback, but this is nothing the Klesmit can’t overcome. A terrific passer and scorer, when Klesmit is healthy, he is one of the best prospects in the 2023 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="951467" first="Prentice" last="Young"] -- PG -- Milwaukee Lutheran

Another player coming off an injury, it appears that Young is very close to being at 100 percent. And when he is fully healthy, Young is a real problem on both ends of the court. He is a very good defender who has no problem guarding the opposing team’s best player. On offense, he is a true three-level scorer that can fill it up from anywhere.

[player_tooltip player_id="1021576" first="William" last="Whorton"] -- PF -- Milwaukee King

Whorton is only beginning to scratch the surface of his true potential. Standing at 6-foot-8 with long arms, Whorton is capable of taking over a game in the paint. He can block shots, grab rebounds, and throw down some big-time dunks. The power forward already has one Division One offer from Louisiana Monroe. If he continues to play well, Whorton could have more by the end of the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="1039320" first="Brogan" last="McIntyre"] -- SF -- Milton

McIntyre is coming off a productive junior season with Milton. A small forward with good size and athleticism, McIntyre is the type of player to make hustle plays that change a game’s momentum. He rebounds well, can finish though contact, and is able to knockdown outside shots. Keep an eye on McIntyre this spring. I have a feeling he will do some special things.

Other prospects to watch for:

[player_tooltip player_id="1028255" first="Arhman" last="Lewis"] -- PG -- Madison LaFollette

[player_tooltip player_id="1023258" first="Jalen" last="Haynes"] -- G -- Martin Lutheran

[player_tooltip player_id="981021" first="Ashe" last="Oglesby"] -- F -- The Prairie School

[player_tooltip player_id="950098" first="Juok" last="Riak"] -- W -- Madison LaFollette (Unsigned senior returning from injury)
