About Dwayne

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a perspicacious lefty guard with a shifty style of play and excellent ability to handle the ball, a Lockdown Defender, have great Pace and Speed, Great Basketball IQ, play well on and off the ball, Great Finisher, Strong Mid-Range & 3-Point Shooter, a Floor General and a Leader, a player that everyone loves to play with.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a High Character, outgoing, a leader, determined, inquisitive, smart, intelligent, hardworking and dedicated, funny, caring, family driven person with high expectations for success, achieving my goals, and working towards being the best person I can be. Especially putting God 1st in everything I do.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Black Student Union at my school. Part of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). Mentor (Junior Proctor) to Middle Schoolers at my School.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

To always be patient and listen. Having those qualities makes you a better leader. You can’t lead without listening. Having a strong leadership badge gives you the opportunity to make changes for the better purpose regardless if it’s on or off the court. Leadership helps create a positive teamwork environment that breeds confidence in a winning team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

As a 18yo, I feel that everyday is a challenge, you learn something new everyday. You face obstacles everyday, and you go through different moods and emotions which at times may seem overwhelming and challenging. But with the strength of God and having faith helps anyone get through whatever challenges being faced with. But overall having the ability to balance school, basketball, a social life.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for high academic schools with great diversity, an awesome basketball program and coaching staff. A great campus life environment.
