GHSA State Playoffs: Top Wings Pt. 3

I traveled long and far across the entire state of Georgia from the North to the South, East to West to see some of the most intriguing matchups throughout the state tournament. Now that I can finally catch my breath, here are some of the top performers I saw over the past month of the GHSA State Playoffs.

2023 6-7 W [player_tooltip player_id="1131538" first="Tycen" last="McDaniels"] – Spencer

D-I offers should start pouring in soon. McDaniels recorded 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 blocks in the 4A State Championship. McDaniels is long and wiry with outstanding athleticism. He’s an impact maker on defense and a skilled offensive threat that can score at all levels.

2023 6-7 W [player_tooltip player_id="957134" first="Frankquon" last="Sherman"] – Grovetown

Another future D-I prospect, after dominating at the Class A-Public level Sherman moved to 6A to capture a state title. He piled in 23 points and 13 rebounds, effectively scoring in the paint through contact while also creating off the dribble from the wing.

2023 6-5 W [player_tooltip player_id="1043319" first="AJ" last="Barnes"] – Eagle’s Landing

[player_tooltip player_id="1043319" first="AJ" last="Barnes"] ended his career with one last double-double recording 17 points and 11 rebounds. He’s an explosive high motor player that scores on putbacks and slashes to the basket.

2022 6-4 W [player_tooltip player_id="1214189" first="Jordan" last="Fordyce"] – Eagle’s Landing

[player_tooltip player_id="1214189" first="Jordan" last="Fordyce"] had a strong senior season. He’s an athletically gifted wing that also likes to score in the paint on drives. He provides toughness on defense and is still scratching the surface of his offensive upside.
