Sectional 10 – North Central
The North Central Sectional is the toughest in the state. With Warren Central finding it’s groove and North Central the best team in the state, that is a good place to start. Then you have Lawrence North who has been up and down, Cathedral that is starting to come together, and then Tech and Lawrence Central solid teams but a step or two behind the top tier, that makes for a great set of potential matchups. Warren Central has already played teams in this Sectional eight times this year. They are 7-1 in those games. With so much star power, this is easily the most notable place to be come the first week of March.
Sectional 7 – Lafayette Jefferson
In Sectional 7, you have, in my opinion, the best Sectional in the state. It doesn’t have any of the massive powers in the state but Logansport, McCutcheon, and Zionsville are no joke and Kokomo, Harrison, and Lafayette Jeff are all a lot better than you would think. The balance in this Sectional is amazing and when you add in just how good each of these teams are, the likelihood of there being “upsets” is going to be very high. That will be what makes this the most fun Sectional in the entire state.
Sectional 11 – Decatur Central
This Sectional at Decatur is so close to Sectional 8 at Carmel that it will probably switch back and forth five times before the end of the year. However, as it stands today, they are the third toughest Sectional in 4A and it is going to be an interesting year with Southport down and Ben Davis looking really, really good. Indianapolis Pike, though, is the team you should never sleep on in March because they always seem to play better at the end of the year. The sleeper team here is Roncalli which is loaded with talent and has some very big wins on their side already.
