NCHSAA 4A East Point Guards: 2023s, Pt I

<h5>The second half of the NCHSAA season is underway. Here's a look at Part I of the 2023 point guards to track in the NCHSAA 4A East.</h5> <p> </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1347797" first="Ellija" last="Preddy"] | 6’0 Guard | Wakefield</h5> <p>Preddy is coming into his own for Wakefield High at the point guard spot as conference play is underway. He’s shown poise as a playmaker and shooter this season while putting up 13.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.5 apg and 1.8 spg. He’s emerged as quite the presence at the floor general spot for the Wolverines as they look to push the envelope in the NAC-6.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1086709" first="Nigel" last="Lucas"] | 6’1 Point Guard | Wake Forest</h5> <p>Lucas is a floor general that’s created quite the presence on both ends of the floor for Wake Forest High. He’s put together solid numbers as they’re 11-3 on the year with 11.3 ppg, 3.3 apg, 2.9 rpg and 2.2 spg as a two-way threat on the floor. He’s one of a few backcourt names that’s got the Cougars off to a strong start in conference action at 2-0.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1014989" first="Amari" last="Odom"] | 6’4 Point Guard | Panther Creek</h5> <p>Odom has been a steady floor general in the Panther Creek backcourt as he continues to excel on the gridiron and hardwood as a two-sport athlete. He’s averaging 11.7 ppg, 5.0 apg, 4.9 rpg and 2.9 spg while showing off his prowess as a scorer and playmaker. As he improves upon his efficiency, look for his name to grow in the class.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1030033" first="JaMerel" last="Brockington"] | 6’0 Point Guard | Lumberton</h5> <p>Brockington is a floor general over at Lumberton High that's having yet another strong season. He's producing solid numbers at the point guard spot with 13.4 ppg, 7.9 apg and 7.7 rpg. He's an active guard that plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor and knows how to make his presence felt on the boards. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1168834" first="Jake" last="Hart"] | 6’0 Point Guard | Fuquay-Varina</h5> <p>Hart is quite the stat-sheet stuffing floor general over at Fuquay-Varina High. He’s putting up 8.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.7 apg and 3.2 spg as they’re out to a 6-2 start to their conference schedule. He's a high IQ floor general that adjusts at all times to what the defense gives him in order to make things happen on the floor.</p>
