4 varsity boys’ games mark the end of a jammed pack Wally Keller Classic. The eight teams played hard on the opening day, giving us a few guys to mark as standouts. Below are the day’s top performers.

Andre Myers

Myers shot well all over the court. His mid-range game was on from the jump, with turnaround and pull-up jumpers falling throughout the game. He hit his line three point attempt. The well athletic 6’2 guard out of Jacksonville is currently receiving interest from JUCOS.

[player_tooltip player_id="1164182" first="Kevin" last="Odom"]

Odom finished with double figure thanks to his ability to get to his spots and hit shots off the dribble. It wasn’t the jumper that lands Odom on this list, but just how deep he can get into the paint within the flow of the game. Once he gets past his man, he’s near the restricted area where floaters and an ability to score against size takeover. The senior is also an adept playmaker that walked away with 5 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id="955583" first="Alex" last="Perry"]

The 6’6 forward did everything for his team. Between starting the offense, rebounding on both ends, and creating his shot in the mid-post the senior was the game’s most productive player with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Perry is an athletic wing player with body control and a nose for boards.

Jamar Livingston

Livingston displayed his athleticism with a near double-double and ability to finish against contact. At 6’4 he lived on the boards, starting the break or scoring on putbacks. The 2023 product plays hard, can hit the catch and shoot three, and gets downhill in the half court.

The Tennessee native started the game showing how well he can run off screens for clean looks. Then showed ball skills when taking over lead playmaker duties. He’d finish the game with an athletic chase down block and a two-hand dunk in transition. At 6’2, the senior guard has a nice package of skills to work with.

[player_tooltip player_id="953010" first="DJ" last="Woods"]

Woods was a bright spot in a stagnant Charlotte offense. The junior guard scored the bulk of his points in the second quarter where a three, mid range pull-up, and a drive off a screen would all fall for him. His energy, confidence, and ability to make plays for others when his offense is going were all evident.

[player_tooltip player_id="962384" first="Anthony" last="Robinson"]

26 points in front of high major coaches is a good look for anyone. Robinson scored the game high by going three of three from deep, torching guys in the midrange, and making shots around the rim. He’s a tough shot maker with excellent body control. He played more of an off-ball role in the game, but that allowed him to show off several aspects of his scoring repertoire. The 2023 says UCF and Texas Tech are showing interest.

[player_tooltip player_id="814922" first="Tre’" last="Donaldson"]

Auburn’s future two-sport athlete controlled the game from the tip. He makes plays on both sides off the ball as a competitive floor general. On offense, an ability to throw pinpoint passes consistently hit pull-ups, and score in the paint made him the team’s offensive hub. On defense, he’s a physical on-ball defender and dangerous off-ball defender that digs in the ball handler’s pocket turning turnovers into transition scores.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"]

Allen might have had one of his best shot-making performances in the day 1 closer. He hit a three, scored out of both short corners, and had no problem scoring around Orlando Christian Prep’s size. The sophomore’s motor is always running, allowing him to collect boards against players with D1 size and athleticism.

Parrish was 4 of 7 from deep, with each attempt coming beyond the college line. He showed good fundamentals with a jump stop into a pull-up at the free throw line and draw in a charge.

[player_tooltip player_id="712105" first="Ven-Allen" last="Lubin"]

The Notre Dame commit had a classic Lubin game. He ran the floor, finished above the rim, and hit an outside shot. His skill set is very obvious as a physical 6’7 forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055774" first="Isaiah" last="Brown"]

Brown really looks to be coming into his own as of late. He’s more aggressive on the court, knows when to score, and is productive on both ends of the court. As a long 6’4 guard, he’s getting into his matchup’s body to making their way to the basket harder and collecting deflections. He knocked down a wing three, scored on a putback, transition dunk, and attempted to catch a body that left his head near the rim.
