These senior forwards have wide-ranging skillsets, from bangers to shot makers, and defensive stalwarts, these guys show why their experience sets them apart. They are fundamentally strong players that have honed their skills for four years of high school ball. Here are some of the standout forwards from the class of 2022.

James Carey 6’3 F Bainbridge

Carey is often matched up with bigger players which forces the forward to outsmart defenders more often than not. He makes smart cuts and hard dives that open up easy buckets for the big man. He’s a solid rebounder and does all the things you’d hope a big man does, he just does it a little differently. He is constantly aware of positioning on the floor, has great timing for crashing boards, and still finds himself blocking shots inside too. Add to that his ability to stretch the floor with a consistent three-pointer, and Carey is a weapon for the Spartans.

Kanye Taylor 6’3 F Bremerton

Taylor is the big on an undersized Bremerton squad and he fills big shoes for the Knights. He’s capable of finishing inside, working methodically around defenders. Taylor’s also phenomenal at reading the ball’s trajectory off the rim. He excels as an offensive and defensive rebounder by getting a read on where the ball is going, giving him a split-second jump on opposing players. Taylor also likes to step outside and knockdown the three-ball at a good clip, which makes it difficult for bigger teams to match up at times.

Conrad Bippes 6’8 F University

The University post is one of the more classic bigs on this list. He does the majority of his work inside and really grinds to get through defenses. He’s solid in every way inside, sinking jump hooks, pinning defenders for drop steps, and mounting himself down low to grab offensive boards. That impact follows him to the defensive end where he averages 1.5 blocks per game. Bippes nearly averages a double-double on the year and is the anchor down low for a good University squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="1120396" first="Reed" last="Stamps"] 6’6 F Chelan

Stamps is a forward who plays just as easily out on the wing as he does from the post. He’s got a great stroke from deep and knock it down with the best of them when he’s got it going. He’s a strong kid who uses that good base to extend his range out past the three-point line. That base also allows for Stamps to establish good position inside and draw contact from defenders, helping him get to the line often.

Chase Wilson 6’7 F Okanogan

Wilson is listed as a forward/post, but that doesn’t limit his game in the least bit. He’s a large forward who can bang inside but he looks most natural spraying jump shots from around the floor. He has a pure-looking jumper that’s accented by a little flutter kick you don’t normally see from big guys. His form is nice and tall, and he has no trouble knocking down shots from any spot. Wilson also possesses nice touch on his entry passes, that when combined with his quick, compact movements, makes him feel more like a guard at times.
