Quincy Connor– 6’3 “Lordsburg” Class of 2022
Lordsburg star player Quincy Connor is the 2nd leading scorer right now in New Mexico averaging 26.3 points per game this season. This past Friday at home vs Cliff he scored 37 points on 12/19 shooting from the field, 5/8 from three and 8/10 from the free throw line. Lordsburg defeated Cliff 84-42. Than this past Saturday December 18th vs Cobre, his school won 67-59. He scored 27 points on 10/17 shooting, was 4/7 shooting from 4/7 from three and recorded 12 rebounds.
Derek Sanchez– 6’1 Shooting Guard “Pojoaque Valley” Class of 2023
Derek Sanchez is currently the fourth leading scorer in New Mexico averaging 24.5 points per game this season. This past Tuesday December 14th vs Santa Fe Indian he 37 points to help Pojoaque Valley win 67-59.
Santiago Rivas Santiago Rivas 5'8" | PG Escalante | 2022 State NM – 5’9 Shooting Guard “Escalante” Class of 2022
Santiago Rivas Santiago Rivas 5'8" | PG Escalante | 2022 State NM is currently the 5th leading scorer in New Mexico this season averaging 24.4 points per game. This past Friday December 17th on the road vs Los Alamos, he scored 29 points. Than this past Saturday December 18th vs Pecos, he scored 20 points to help his school defeat Pecos 76-47 to improve to 5-2 season.
William Benjamin Jr.– 6’1 Guard “Las Cruces” Class of 2022
Las Cruces Guard William Benjamin Jr. is currently the 3rd leading scorer in New Mexico averaging 25.1 points per game this season. His play has led Las Cruces to an undefeated 10-0 record this season. This past Tuesday December 14th on the road vs Los Lunas he scored 29 points on 7/13 shooting from the field, 4/5 from three and was 11/14 from the free throw line. He also contributed with 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the teams 75-44 win vs Los Lunas. Than this past Saturday December 18th at home vs Cleveland he scored 34 points on 7/13 shooting, 4/7 shooting from three, 16/17 from the free throw line, had 9 assists and 6 rebounds. His played helped Las Cruces defeat Cleveland 74-49.
Jose Murillo Jose Murillo 6'8" | C Highland | 2022 State NM – 6’9 Center “Highland” Class of 2022
Highland Center Jose Murillo Jose Murillo 6'8" | C Highland | 2022 State NM is currently the the 7th leading scorer in New Mexico averaging 22.0 points per game. This past Friday December 17th on the road vs Rio Rancho, he had a good performance despite the loss. He recorded a double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds shooting 8/11 from the field.
Noah Reese Noah Reese 6'3" | SF Goddard | 2022 State NM – 6’2 Power Forward “Goddard” Class of 2022
Noah Reese Noah Reese 6'3" | SF Goddard | 2022 State NM from Goddard is having a solid season so far this year. This past Thursday December 16th vs Roswell,he scored 20 points on 6/12 shooting from the field and was 7/8 from the free throw line. He also had a double double with 10 rebounds. Than this past Saturday December 18th vs Valencia, he scored 26 points on 7/12 shooting with 9 rebounds and went 10/12 from the free throw line. He is also averaging 20.4 points per game this season and is 8th in New Mexico in scoring.
Exodus Ayers Exodus Ayers 6'2" | CG La Cueva | 2023 New E – 6’3 Point Guard “La Cueva” Class of 2023
La Cueva Point Guard Exodus Ayers Exodus Ayers 6'2" | CG La Cueva | 2023 New E is averaging 19.3 points per game this season and is in the top 10 in scoring this year. This past Friday December 17th vs Rio Grande he flirted with a triple double with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. His play helped La Cueva defeat Rio Grande 74-59. Than this past Saturday December 18th vs Cibola he scored a season high 26 points shooting 10/13 from the field and 5 rebounds while leading La Cueva to a 61-53 win.
Jalen Goar Jalen Goar 5'11" | CG Hobbs | 2022 State NM – 6’0 Guard “Hobbs” Class of 2022
Hobbs star Jalen Goar Jalen Goar 5'11" | CG Hobbs | 2022 State NM has had a solid season so far this year and that continued this past week. This past Tuesday December 14th vs Gadsden he scored 24 points on 15/27 shooting and shot 6/10 from the three point line.He also had 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the game to help Hobbs win 86-40. Jalen is also averaging 18.9 points per game this season and Hobbs has a 9-1 record this year.
Noah Gershon– 5’9 Guard “Clovis Christian” Class of 2023
This past Monday December 13th on the road vs Eunice, Noah scored 28 points on 11/25 shooting and helped Clovis Christian get the victory 51-50 in overtime. He is also averaging 18.7 points per game this season while leading Clovis Christian to a 7-2 record this year.
Daniel Corrales– 6’6 Forward “Belen” Class of 2022
Belen Forward Daniel Corrales had a great performance against the defending 4A state champions this past Tuesday December 14th on the road vs Del Norte. He scored 20 points on 9/19 shooting and recorded a double double with 13 rebounds.
David Cruz David Cruz 5'9" | CG Las Cruces | 2024 NM – 5’9 Guard “Las Cruces” Class of 2023
Las Cruces Guard David Cruz David Cruz 5'9" | CG Las Cruces | 2024 NM is one of the best three point shooters in the state. He has made 22 three pointers this season which is currently the fourth most in New Mexico this season. This past week he made a combined 9 three pointers in two games. This past Tuesday December 14th on the road vs Los Lunas, he scored 17 points and shot 5/9 from the three point line. His play helped Las Cruces defeat Los Lunas 75-44. Than this past Friday December 17th vs Carlsbad, he scored 12 points on 4/9 shooting from the three point line. His play has helped Las Cruces stay undefeated this season at 10-0.
Brody Jaquez– 6’5 Forward “Belen” Class of 2022
Belen big man had a great performance against Del Norte the defending 4A state champions this past Thursday night. On the road h scored 19 points on 7/10 shooting and had 8 rebounds with 4 assists. His played helped Belen defeat Del Norte 50-42.
