Leroy competed with a high motor on Saturday, and it showed with his sprints chasing down loose balls and getting up the floor in transition. Barnes could take off like a rocket in the open floor, allowing him to pick up a handful of buckets at the rim including some tough finishes with his off hand. In the half-court he found success getting into the paint off the drive and dishing it off to one of his forwards. Finished with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in the win.

The 2023 six-foot-two-inch guard from Minnehaha Academy, Leroy Barnes Leroy Barnes 6'1" | PG Minnehaha | 2023 State MN was the biggest contributor in the bench group of Team 1. Barnes was relentless at times on offense and defense. Offensively it was attacking the basket, or prodding with his dribble to get by his opponent to make something happen. Barnes enough athleticism to Dunk on the break off a steal gives him a leg up on similar type guards.

Because of how many players Minnehaha brought, Leroy only played during the second game of the day but he made an impact right from the jump. On the opening possession of the game he converted on a tough finish through contact to give his team the lead and they never looked back. He was excellent in transition as he has good straight-line speed with the explosiveness to finish above the rim as well as the body control to finish in traffic. Threw down two dunks and had multiple lay-ups as he got to the rim with speed. Defensively he’s so good at jumping lazy passes and turning those steals into offense the other way.
