Bryon Laue
Bryon Laue
About Bryon
Expert Analysis
Spencer Christenson | Prep Hoops Scout
Laue has been the most dominant player and a matchup nightmare for opposing teams in the state B’s. He’s affecting both sides of the ball as an interior scorer and shot-affecting and shot-blocking force on D. Highly efficient scoring at the hoop and pulling down key rebounds for Castlewood to secure possession of the ball. Two double-doubles in as many games for Laue. He’s signed with DII University of Sioux Falls.
Game 1 vs Lyman – 12 points (5-7 FG) – 11 rebounds – 3 blocks – 27 minutes
Game 2 vs Wessington Springs – 19 points (8-10 FG) – 13 rebounds – 2 blocks – 29 minutes

Laue was way too much to handle for Madison and completely dominated the 1st half. They didn’t have anyone to defend and slow him down at the hoop. Bryon used his shear size to score over and gobble up offensive rebounds for putbacks. Madison then used 6’9” Brooks on him and brought an extra defender on post touches. 21 points and 17 rebounds for Laue for the game.

D1 Minnesota had a tough time competing with Bryon’s size and physicality on the block. Defensively he’s so tough to move on the block, and nothing was coming easy at the rim when he was nearby. On the offensive end he could work his way into deep position and just turn over his left shoulder to finish with the right hand. If he was left isolated in the paint, he was likely scoring with touch. Impressed with his ability to step out onto the perimeter and comfortably knock down a three. Solid showing from the 6’9 big against scholarship level competition.
